Confessions of a magazine addict

Posted on Friday, September 15th, 2006 at 8:20 pm

My kids have a magazine fundraiser at their school every fall and it is the perfect excuse for me, the magazine addict, to order a bunch.   With 40% going to their school I can easily convince myself it is for a good cause.

So here is my list and review, including the newest ones added this year.

Cottage Living- my all time favorite magazine

Renovation Syle- this one never disappoints me, always a good source of inspiration for our never ending remodeling

Country Living- this one is hit or miss.  I am not into all the anitque stuff.

Country Home- better than Country Living but still hit or miss

O Home- this one I just added this year

domino- just added this one this year

bark- just got this one, can’t wait to read it

Better Homes and Gardens- used to not like this one, then started liking it, but it has been disappointing for the last 6 months.  Although I love their special issues for remodeling and such

American Patchwork and Quilting- this is ok, I like the BH&G QUilts and More magazine better

Creating Keepsakes- used to love this magazine but I haven’t scrapbooked in a year and so this one hardly ever gets read.  Some where along the line I picked up a really long subscription to this.

So I think that is it.  Of course the rest of family gets their own mags too, Nintendo Power, Family Hanyman, Business 5.0, This old house

ok well it seemed like a lot when I was writing them all down.  And I do realize that this is a pretty boring post but it’s a Friday night and I am in my pj’s by 9pm, skipping out on girls night once again.  SO the conclusion here is that I lead a pretty boring life considering that I am writing about magazines, in my pj’s, on a Friday night, sigh.  Maybe I should just go to bed.

Oh how I wish I had a night to read my magazines! I’ve got several months of Real Simple & Martha Stewart Living just waiting to be read. Maybe this weekend?
