What’s your number?

Posted in ElisaLou at 8:26 am by elisa

The new fabrics are up and one of my favorites is this What’s your number?

Whats Your Number
Whats Your Number - Multi
I knew it would be a hit with math teachers but we all have numbers that we are drawn to, don’t we?  I know someone who doesn’t like the number 6, and I don’t really care for the numer 7.

But there are good numbers too, I love the number 3.  3 boys, 3 dogs.  After I had my 2nd son I had two very early miscarriages and Andy and I agreed that we would try one more time and if it didn’t work we would stop at 2 kids.  When I was sitting in my OB’s office waiting for the 1st heartbeat check (the other two had not made it to that point), I was so nervous.  I opened a magazine and started reading an article.  The first line was “3rd times charm”.  I knew then that everything would be alright.  That third pregnancy was my third boy.  And if you were a child a 70’s like I was you know, “THREE, is the magic number!”  A little schoolhouse rock for you.

So check out the new fabric and the new coin pouch and knitting needle holder.

Happy Monday, I am off to the dentist to get a permanent filling in my root canal tooth.

Spring

Posted in ElisaLou at 9:29 pm by elisa

has finally sprung.  It felt so good to throw open the windows and let the warm breezes in.  The boys put on shorts when they got home from school and the neighbors came over for an afternoon of playing outside -the grow-ups hung out and chatted on the porch.  We were all very ready for some warm weather.

The boys were so dirty I threw two of them in the tub together and of course they started to fight.  I pulled the little one out and he said, “That B!  (he calls Blake “B”).  He is such trouble!  I even think he is a little bit TOOPID!”

Now they are all tired, reading books and trying to keep their eyes open.  The dogs are all passed out, having enjoyed a fun day out in the sun.  Ahh!  I love spring.

Oh and I just found out tonight that my neighbor that moved to Ireland is living between the drummer for U2 and the lead singer for the Cranberries.  Rita if you are reading this we are coming to see you soon!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!

ok ok, it didn’t happen

and I knew there was a good chance of that.  My busy husband didn’t get around to my newsletter or the new fabric but hang tight…… hopefully this week.

We had a date night on Saturday, we really need to do that more often.  As we sat in the movie theater watching the previews I asked Andy, “any idea when we saw a movie together sans kids??”  We realized it was a Star Wars movie (that I did not want to see) and it was our anniversary and I was pregnant with Blake, who is now 7 1/2.  I was very close to giving birth and I had contractions during the movie. This time we saw Wild Hogs, loved it.

In other news, I am in need of a need camera.  I love my Digital Rebel but it is not so easy to throw it in your pocket when you are heading out the door to go say, skiing.  You will have to take my word for it when I say that a little three year old on skis whipping down a (small) hill with a big smile on his face is one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

And I will leave you with this Mini Hobo- how stinkin’ cute is this??Elisalou Mini Hobo Bag

It has one handle that slips through a ring on the back of the bag, and it stands up on it’s own.  Love it. Bigger than a wristlet, smaller than a regular bag.  Very fun and flirty.  Look for it soon…….

Newsletter

Posted in ElisaLou at 8:40 am by elisa

I am hoping to get one out this weekend after I get some of the new Spring fabrics up. Up really early with a sick kiddo, hope he gets better as Andy was planning to take the older kids skiing tomorrow. Also want him to get better so we can head out tonight to see Wild Hogs, it looks so funny. Cole really really wants us to go to the movie so his baby sitter Lucy can come over. He loves Lucy. He tells everyone that she is his girlfriend.

A busy day of sewing today. Here are a few cute ones that went out yesterday.

Elisalou MaryBeth Bag

This is the MaryBeth Bag with one handle instead of two. When our new website goes up there will be more options to change handles, ties, snaps, pockets, etc.

Elisalou Lily Bag

This is the Lily Bag with a longer handle, also an option that will be available on the new site.

Elisalou Bucket Bag

And here is our old stand by, the bucket bag. Still my favorite bag for everyday use.

Enjoy your weekend and check those in-boxes. My husband (newsletter maker) is now walking around humming “under pressure”.

Yay

Posted in ElisaLou at 5:05 pm by elisa

Just got a call from Andy- and he is driving home from the airport.  The back-up is on it’s way!!

He decided to take an early flight so he wouldn’t get stuck in Boston due to all the storms that are sweeping through here.  Yay!  So instead of getting in at 10 he is getting in at 5.  We actually get to eat dinner as a family.

It’s thundering again, another storm on the way with some “rotation”.  SO glad he took that early flight!

is where I am headed this morning after getting a maximum of three hours of sleep last night.  I don’t know why this always happens when Andy is out of town but I hate it!  One kid with a nightmare, one kid with a stomachache, one kid can’t sleep, one wild puppy.  They all go to sleep, then it starts all over, one kid in my bed, two kids in my bed, one kid to my bathroom turning all the lights on and flushing and washing hands.  One big dog goes down the hall and lets the puppy out of one kids room, puppy thinks it’s time for play.  I let them all out for a 3am pee.  Big dogs can’t settle and I realize they are out of water so I get back up to give them water.  They go to bed.  Puppy can’t calm down when I bring her back in and try to leave her in my room.  So we both go back to older kids room and she falls asleep.  But wakes up an hour later whining.  I get up and give her food- by this time it is 4:30.  She eats and goes back to sleep for an hour and starts whining again- a thunderstorm of all things has rolled in and is LOUD.  She has never heard thunder, she’s scared.  I get up.  Let all dogs out.  Read email until it was time to get the kids up.

Now they are all up and one wants to stay home because he doesn’t feel good, one is coughing all over his cereal, and the little one is climbing on my back.  At least the dogs are asleep.
