Wrapping it up

The boys have officially wrapped up sports for the year.  LAX and soccer came to an end this weekend and we are taking the summer off.  No baseball for the first time in 4 years.  I can’t wait.  This means more relaxed evenings, trips to the pool with dad, more spontaneous trips to the farm.  The kind of summer that was the norm when I was a kid.  No schedules, no games, just time for play and reading books in the hammock.  More time spend together, less time spent at individual activities.  As my kids are getting older I am becoming more and more aware of how fast time can turn into a blur of social and sporting events with me trying to just get us from here to there and not taking anything in.  I need to get to know my kids again.

So that is the plan.  Yes I know they will fight, and I know I will be pulling my hair out half the time but I also know that we have lost touch with how to all be together and just have fun.  SO that is the plan, wish me luck!
