In Demand

So the recruiters have really been after my husband lately.  In the past couple of days he has had 5 calls for jobs in Connecticut, Cleveland, Seattle, and two in San Fran.  Most of the time we dismiss them pretty quick.  Not moving to Cleveland or Connecticut.  Don’t really want to move to Seattle either- although I really liked it there when we visited my sister-in-law- but she now lives in Austin.  We have had California come up before but we always dismissed it too.  Too expensive, too far away from family, etc.  Yesterday we started playing around with the idea of SF, wouldn’t it be cool to live there??  Started seeing visions of a cool old arts and crafts house in Petaluma.  But then we realized that once we bought the cool old house in Petaluma, we really couldn’t afford to do much else.  Like eat.  Sometimes it is fun to think about these things, wonder how your life could change if you lived in a different city, a different state.  Where is your favorite place? Where do you want to live?

I want to live at Ginky’s house forever and ever! She just needs to get a horse and then it would be complete!

It must feel nice to be in demand. Since you asked I would love to live in Shanghai or Chicago.

i am obssessed with what it would be like to live on the east coast. I love visiting my inlaws back there. i love nyc and would love to be close to it but i don’t know if i could take the cold. i was born and raised so california and live in orange county right now, so i am used to mild weather. san fran is awesome but EXPENSIVE. good luck whatever your decision. it’s always fun to dream.

My perfect place I’m afraid don’t exist. If it does, please tell me. I want to live in a neighborhood where kids can play, but have about 5 acres with lots of trees and room for flowers, a house that sits off the road, neighbors who are close but not too close and a barn with a couple animals. It would be 15 minutes to a grocery store (a decent one) and of course a Starbucks (drive thru would be nice). I love the peaceful farm life AND need modern conveniences at arms reach so I’m kind of stuck. Oh, and something affordable too! There’s the real kicker.

I want to live with my Austin friends in an imaginary city (could be Austin) with New York City an hour to the east and Seattle and hour to the West. Perfect!

Oh yeah, the weather has to be like Austin in May most of the year, but it always needs to snow for Christmas.

Having grown up in Ohio and moved to the desert a couple years ago, my current ideal place to live would be exactly where you are now. I miss Columbus with green, rain, and snow! I know Ohio isn’t perfect, but to me it’s home.
