Phase One

While Andy is wrapping up meetings in NYC the boys and I brought the dogs down to the farm for a week of doggie camp.  As we were making the 3 hour haul, 3 kids, 3 dogs, and me……I couldn’t help but think of how much easier the trip to the farm has gotten in the past couple of years.  No screaming babies, no constant Disney tunes, just 3 boys and their DS Lites and me and my ipod.  Whew, it’s been a long time coming.

Now the dogs are running like crazy and having a great time.  Lot’s of rolling around on their backs.  Doggie camp consists of being quasi-farm dogs for a week.  Plenty of room to roam and roll in nice smelling stuff.  They get filthy, they sleep in the garage, they get very very tired.  Then they get a bath and come home and sleep for days in their comfy beds.
Friday morning we are flying out bright and early (6am!!) to head down to Austin.  I have been busting my booty to get as many bags out as I could before I left so I could actually enjoy this little trip and not feel guilty.  But wouldn’t you know as soon as I checked my email from my parents house there was a nice little gripe waiting for me, how could I be taking  ten days away from sewing when my wait is already so long??  I have to say that this is when a cell phone and a level headed husband come in handy.  Because he always says what I need to hear, and what I already know.  My kids need to see their Grandparents, they need to see their aunts and uncles and cousins.  They see them once a year.  I am very very sorry that this means that if you just ordered, your wait might be a little longer than normal.    BUT—There is still someone at home working full time sewing while I am gone.

ENJOY YOUR TIME IN TEXAS!!!!! Take it from a mom of “older teens”, time with your kiddos is so fleeting, bags can wait. Love you.

Safe Travels. Do enjoy yourself. Family is the best and need to come first. ALWAYS! No regrets. NEVER!

By the way, those animals of yours could do worse than being “Farm Dogs,” for a week. In fact, while you are gone I might just train them to be “Hunting Dogs.”

Yeah right dad, this from the guy that pukes when he sees a dead bird. 😉
The only thing they will be hunting is moles.

We are so excited. Joey can barely hold on until tomorrow. For the last month, it has been a daily question of “how many days until we go to the beach?”

    Today’s answer: ONE!

I can’t wait to see you guys, we are going to have a blast!

You should enjoy your vacation, everyone is entitled to one. Don’t let other folks get you down! Enjoy your time away with family, and just think how relaxed you will be upon your return. Have a great trip!

Elisa, I hope you and your family have a wonderful, well-deserved vacation. Don’t let someone like that get you down. Your bags are worth waiting for, and you need this time with your family!
