Yesterday Nikky came over to play. Nikky is a Puggle and because her house is going through a big renovation, really wanted to get out and play.

Lots of fun was had

They found lots of mud

And they all ended up here

Dog shower- best investment.

So this year when my birthday rolled around I had a brief flashback to my birthday last year and the little tantrum I threw because of the ticket on my car. Remember that?? Well I felt quite pleased with myself this year that I made it through my birthday without any run-ins with the police- ( not that police run-ins are that common) oh and I did manage to get out of that ticket. Well Andy did, and if we were completely honest here we would admit that maybe the whole license plate thing was his fault anyway but we won’t go there.
Well I shouldn’t have felt so smug. Last night we took the boys down to the short north for dinner and came out to find this

see here in Ohio we have to have a license plate on the back AND the front of the car. What is missing from my car?

UGH! Apparently Andy needs special bolts from Toyota to attach the license plate to this cool little 4-runner that he bought me a couple months ago. So once again we HAVE the plate- it just isn’t on the car. I guess it’s pretty obvious at this point that we don’t learn lessons easily.

I very rarely get a chance to photograph items before they get bagged and boxed and shipped out the door but yesterday I looked up and saw these three stacked and waiting and thought they looked cool together so I snapped a picture

Bright and spring-like. Getting a bunch together and out the door tomorrow so I am going to try to squeeze time in for more pictures. Also, my goal for the weekend is to get the new fabrics up and a newsletter out. I have promised myself I am staying in until it is done.
Have a great weekend!

What do you want from your Valentine?
Here is what mine got for me

Which after the way they played last night is going to be donated to Blake’s new Blue Jackets room.
But I also got this

a cute little red nano to replace my old ipod mini that no longer wanted to behave. Also included was an arm band for when I am at the gym. Perfect gifts! Hmmm now that I think about it, do you think he is trying to tell me that I need to go to the gym more?

I went to that place that I swore I would never go. But hey it isn’t the first time I have eaten my own words so there you go.

So I said I would never dress a dog. Well that was before I had this little thing that goes out in the snow and comes back soaking wet and shivering. She wants to play with the other dogs, well now in her new jacket- she can!
And it’s a pretty cool little bright orange quilted jacket, it even has a pocket on the back where she can stash her hair bows. Kidding! Well it does have a pocket but I have no idea what is supposed to go in there. The best part is now I can see her from the house, before she would go out to the way back and I would have to go outside to find her (she likes to crawl under the gate), now I don’t have too.
And so far the other dogs aren’t making fun of her, I’m sure Shiloh is just waiting for the right moment.

It looks peaceful doesn’t it?

But lurking around are a bunch of armed boys

One runs for cover

Ready to launch….

They claim this is the ultimate snowball

Time for hot chocolate. Then back to work for me.

Happy boys and happy dogs today because it is snowing! No school means Star Wars is already running and a fire is in the fireplace. Legos are everywhere including Zoey’s mouth. A ten year old is still sleeping.
Shiloh saw the snow out the window and was ready to go.

I let her out to play her favorite game- stalking the other dogs

she can stand perfectly still for so long……. and then she pounces

This looks bad but it is all in fun, really.
Then the little one joins in, mainly just jumping around

And then they all come in for a nap by the fire. Rough life.
Oh and I caught this on MSN yesterday. I have never seen the Westminster dog show as we aren’t into pedigrees around here (we tend to get our dogs from death row) but this made me smile. Go Uno!

We threw Cole in the tub last night after the game to wash out his blue hair but of course that stuff doesn’t want to budge.
He woke up this morning without his blue mohawk but looked liked this

nice blue highlights

starting to look more like his favorite hockey player. Oh and yes that is blue painters tape around my ceiling- see why there are no house pics??

so he has a little lunch before his superheroes swim class

He keeps yelling, “Jackets….. on….. the….. POWER PLAY!”
And then he comes home from swimming, and he still has blue hair

but his banged up hockey player nose is healing and is now just a dot

And here is my favorite with Shiloh saying, “can I have that”

Reminds me of that commercial where the dog can talk but all he says is, “sausages, sausages, sausage!”
Hoping for a big snow tonight, and some sledding tomorrow.

It is so cold here- like 7 degrees.
Last night when the Blue Jackets game was over I seriously questioned why we didn’t stay home and watch it in the comforts of our *warm* home.
Cole got ready for the game with his blue hair

and made it on the big overhead tv thing in Nationwide a couple of times

Blake’s favorite player, Nikolai Zherdev

Nik and Rik

Cole’s favorite player, Rick Nash.

Looking a little beat up after being shoved against the glass last Thursday

but scored and tied the game

the game went into overtime and ended in a shoot-out where Nash scored again but the Kings scored twice and we lost. Again. Sigh.
Next time it is that cold I am staying home with her

The weekends seem to be flying by lately. Yesterday was indoor soccer for Blake

That’s him in the white shirt in front of the ref. Andy is the coach over there under the guest sign.
Andy and I have been spoiling ourselves lately with nights out. Last night we went downtown for dinner at Miranova and then to a party at a friend’s house. Loving the fact that my kids are getting older!!
Blake has his last basketball game today and then we are headed down to Nationwide to catch the Blue Jackets game. Cole has requested that we dye his hair blue for the game, and he wants it “spikey like a dragon”. I will be sure to take lots of pictures of that.
