See what happens when I try to be a good dog owner??

Well actually I am not going to show you because it is pretty gross.

Because the weather has taken a turn for the better (ie not so hot) and because Barley is getting way too large around the middle I decided to skip the rec center and take her out for a run.

Barley is a great dog to walk because she doesn’t need a leash. But you have to watch her because if we get anywhere near our street she heads for home like a horse heads for the barn.

Running with her is a little more challenging because she weaves- and she trips me.  Well today 5 minutes into our run, down I went.  As I sat there checking out the damage, two bleeding knees and a really gross bleeding palm.  She turned and looked at me and I could tell she was thinking “you really are a clumsy girl, don’t you think we would both be better off if we just went back home and sat on the couch?”

So I wiped the blood on my sweat pants (so glad I wasn’t wearing shorts!), turned the ipod to Social Distortion (loud), and off we went.  I wore her out.

Wish I could say that it was all her fault.  But I obviously have balance issues (according to the Wii) and my legs are a battleground of scars, I have fallen chasing dogs, chasing kids, and even once in a bagel parking lot, I tripped while carrying Blake (he was one)- that one was bad because my arms were mangled from trying to protect his head.  He was fine.

So there you go, my life as a clumsy girl.

Off to wash the blood off my ipod.  Yuck, I know.

I love when the Wii asks if you find yourself tripping when you walk.

Guess I better get busy with all those balancing “games”.
