Every year our neighborhood gets together to carve pumpkins.
I must admit- I like to look at houses. I like to daydream about moving somewhere coastal (usually in the winter, usually when Andy comes home and says “I need a new job”….)
But the truth is, it would be VERY hard to leave my neighborhood. I love it. I really do.
What was supposed to be a temporary house until my “dream” house came in the market has turned out so much better than we ever anticipated.
My kids have best friends in this neighborhood. Friends that they will probably have the rest of their lives. We have such a great group. It has inspired me to be more active in getting Cole his core group of friends. I am so regretting my choice to pull him out of the all-day K program. I gave up his spot because there was a long list of moms who really needed all day. So I pulled him and now he goes half day. But the boys in the hood go all day.
I am just going to have to make a better effort to get them together after school and on weekends. It’s only a year. They have a long time to hang. But still…..
Also makes me determined to get Eva out and about to hang with some of the younger ones. It is so cool watching my older boys hang with friends they have known forever.
Ok, enough of that.
On to the pictures. There are a lot, Andy took most with the camera set on automatic and I was too lazy to edit them so think of them more as “snapshots” 🙂
Eva’s pumpkin
MB carving her “brain”
She just won her soccer tournament and had her trophy on the table- that cracked me up
Some relied on others to carve their pumpkins
Scary
There was some cheating going on
Eva hung out
I love this shot of her below- even though it’s blurry

Sounds (and looks!) like a wonderful neighborhood to raise a family! My son (Jr in High School) has had the same group of friends since 2nd grade, and my husband and I say we would hand pick every single one of them. They’re wonderful .. and have great families too. They do everything together, and I too, KNOW they’re building life long friendships! I love that! My daughter (freshman in college) has never had a “group”, instead a “few” – and that’s ok. It sometimes gets a little more difficult with the girls I think! Anyway, I always enjoy looking at your pictures .. especially the ones of your baby! She is just a doll!! Have a great day!
