Photography

Just the word gets my heart pumping faster.

My true passion.

When my memory card is full I am so so happy. The possibilities that await. I can never stand the wait, I usually have to pop it in my computer right away. To see if I captured anything magical.

    Hi Elisa,
I worked with Andy on a couple of projects – now am in a different area of LTS. I have followed your blog through your adoption of Eva and look forward to the updates of your family:) I am a photo fan as well and have thousands of pictures of my boys (now 16 and 19), family, friends, events, etc; however, have not had the time to do too much with them other than store them 🙂 I love your pictures – you have inspired me to take more and DO SOMETHING WITH THEM! To the point – I am in the process of buying a new PC just for me to work with them. I have a Nikon D60 and would love to find some time to do more with it.

    Thanks for the inspiration!!!

I love the memories preserved. I have a nice Canon and no idea how to really use it. This would be great for me.

How wonderful! I love photos, always have…I took a photography class back in college and fell in love – but I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for sharing.

I love it when I capture a moment for someone and when I share the image with them, their reaction. It’s a way to capture the immediate; the now.

Elisa, when I first started reading your blog 2 years ago your beautiful pictures grabbed by attention right away. Last Christmas my sweet husband bought me an SLR and since then I’ve been tryingi to read and understand every photography book I can get my hands on. I’ve banished myself from using the flash and when I (sometimes) get a pic where the lighting is just right and the focus is sharp it almost makes me jump up and down! Yay!

That one shot that just tells a story. You can stare at it for hours and just “get it”

This post really speaks to my heart. I am a huge fan of photography, I have been for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest childhood memories involve my father with his Nikon 35 mm in hand. He would follow my sister and I throughout our day, capturing the most quiet and obscure moments right along with the loudest and most exciting. I first learned from watching him. And then, I started practicing. My camera did, and does come with me everywhere I go.My eye to the lense, reading light, capturing spirits… I was hooked! Having two little boys of my own has been my most photographic fun! I love photographing them, much in the same way that my father probably loved photographing my sister and I. The images that I have of my boys are pure treasure. Last month my husband was laid off from his employer of nearly eight years. It has forced me to stretch and reach a bit beyond the comfort of my stay at home mommy-ness. I have decided that now might be the time to take my recreational hobby to a more professional level. I am excited, nervous, hopeful and grateful. My camera, my trusty friend and porthole to life’s magical moments. Heres to photography!

i’ve had my rebel for over a year and still have never tried to shoot in manual. would love access to a great forum for help and encouragement! my favorite thing about photography is that it will help me remember all of the little moments i’m cherishing with my son right now once i am old and senile. 🙂

Stories through pictures. Amazing. I love taking pictures and preserving memories forever. My children are only the age they are today, for one day. Photos are so important.

I love my digital SLR, but would love to learn how to use it better. Thanks for the giveaway!

I fall into the category of interested but don’t know where to start! I was hooked after a high school photography class and even learned to develop my own film and pictures…but I haven’t pursued it the way I wanted to. That’s why I come to your blog – I love your photos!

I was the yearbook photographer in high school. We actually developed our black and whites at a local portrait place (I still love that vinegary smell!) I’m new to the “big black digital camera” but I’m learning every day. These childhood moments that I’m trying to capture are fleeting, and it’s sweet to think I might catch a few.

  17. Melanie | 29th Oct 09

I just love the every day moments that are captured. It really is that simple to me.

Each day is a swirling torrent of work, mothering, cleaning, and periodic rest. Photograpy is sometimes my only respite. This membership would mean the world to me 🙂

I have always been interested in photography and actually received a beautiful Nikon slr last Christmas. I have tried to read the manual, but part of me is scared to jump in and just do it! My 11 year old son plays travel ice hockey and this past weekend I took some amazing action shots….I am now really eager to learn.

  23. nicki | 29th Oct 09

I love when I spot something and just know that it will make an awesome picture. Sometimes it is my boys, sometimes it is just an object. I love spotting it, snapping it and then seeing what I captured!

My favorite thing about photography is that I love to view the photos my daughters have taken on their cameras. It’s amazing how children see things an adult would overlook. I love borrowing their cameras to take pictures and view their pictures.
