Carolina Girl

First about Cole. I was wondering if anyone would mention that. 🙂

Blake and Cole have always shared a room, even before they had to (pre Eva).

But we really wanted to find a 5 bedroom house so they could all have their own. We found 2 houses with 5 bedroom but each one had the 5th bedroom in a walk-out basement. I wasn’t really comfortable with all of us being on the 2nd floor and one of my kids two floors below.

So we chose a 4 bedroom house. We haven’t decided 100% where Cole will sleep. He REALLY wants to sleep in the “loft” area- the previous owners have a bed there now, it’s opposite the area with the builtin tv and such. It’s big enough, but of course it has no door. It’s not a true loft in that it is not open to the area below- so it really is closed like a room- except for not having a door. Not really an issue for a 2nd grader. However there is a huge laundry shoot in this area going down to the laundry- I am sure lots of thing will be thrown down it. The other option is the 3rd floor game room. We plan to put our bunkbeds in there anyway for sleepovers. The last option is for him to share with Blake. I’m not too worried about it. There is plenty of space in the house- we will figure it out.

Ok now on to my little Carolina Girl. She is adjusting very well. Her current fascination is pine cones. And of course we have plenty of those around here. Big ones, little ones, pokey ones…She makes a pile of them almost every day.

I love that picture- she looks crazy.

I can’t wait until she has a big yard to explore.

Her vocabulary has exploded. The boys are amazed that she can hold her own now in arguments with them. They can no longer trick her into stuff.

Today she is starting a gymnastics class. She is going to be thrilled.

See that big long scar on her wrist? She burned it about 2 or 3 months ago when she reached up to grab a sweet potato fry off of a hot tray. She called it her hot dog boo boo. I guess because it is shaped like a hot dog.

I decided not to put her back in school until this fall. I figure with all the moving, switching houses and stuff- well it might be better to limit all the changes. She does go to the childcare at my new gym. And seems to like it.

Mostly I am using this time to just hang with her, and explore our new life.

Love her.

I love her too. She looks beautiful in the hazy warm Carolina sun.

PS> That first picture makes me sing….

“One look at you and I can’t disguise
    She’s got CRAZY eyes”

I know in Dirty Dancing it’s hungry eyes…but when Sophia has crazy eyes this is what we sing to her 🙂

So glad she is feeling better! I am so happy you’re getting the house you really wanted. I know the wait to get a hold of the place is hard…it’s so fun to start with a new slate! Happy days!
