Halloween!!!

I have been preparing for a show that I am going to be doing in the next month or so. I am so stinking excited. It’s been years, years! since I have done anything dog related and I just can’t tell you how thrilled I am to slowly get back into it.

When I was in college in Austin, Texas I would drag Andy to events and fun raisers at the brand new “no Kill” animal shelter. I miss doing things like that. My other passion was the greyhounds. I met a lot of nice people getting involved with saving those precious dogs. Don’t even get me started about greyhound racing. If you want to know what happens to those dogs if they aren’t fast enough? Google it. Or when they can’t race anymore? I will never ever get the image of huge garbage cans filled with greyhounds that were bludgeoned to death. It makes me sick to my stomach that people can be so cruel.

Sigh. Moving on.

Fast forward a million years and I now finally live in another area that has a no kill shelter. They recently contacted me about a 5k race and family day they are doing to raise money for the shelter. Of course I said yes!!!

Now that Eva is in preschool two mornings a week I hope to get more and more involved with this cause that is so near and dear to my heart 🙂

Anyway….

I needed a new place to put dog collars because they were just lost deep in our regular Etsy store so I started a new one for dog collars only. AND, in order to celebrate dogs, saving dogs, and our new etsy store, I am offering FREE SHIPPING in the US on all collars.

Lots of Fall choices

But even more fun- the Halloween collars are back!

We get into Halloween around here big time. Even the pups.

So if you want a collar for your pooch- grab it now while you can get it shipped for Free!

More styles will be added daily.

Have a great weekend!

I love the dog collars. You are so talented. Have you ever thought about making a matching leash to go with the dog collar?

The dog collars are so cute. Do you know what I first thought when I saw them? I thought that they were belts. I bought a fabric belt for my sister a few years ago & she loved it. She told me that if I ever see them again…she wants another. Maybe you might think about belts????? I hope so. Christmas shopping will be coming soon.

Thank you for speaking up for the greyhounds!

Greyhound racing is cruel and inhumane. Greyhounds endure lives of nearly constant confinement, kept in cages barely large enough for them to stand up or turn around. While racing, many dogs suffer and die from injuries including broken legs, paralysis, and cardiac arrest. And many greyhounds are euthanized every year, as the number retired from racing exceeds the number of adoptive homes.

At racetracks across the country, greyhounds endure lives of confinement. According to industry statements, greyhounds are generally confined in their cages for approximately 20 hours per day. They live inside warehouse-style kennels in stacked cages that are barely large enough to stand up or turn around. Generally, shredded paper or carpet remnants are used as bedding.

An undercover video recently released by GREY2K USA shows the conditions in which these gentle dogs are forced to live: http://www.grey2kusa.org/azVideo.html

Dogs play an important role in our lives and deserve to be protected from industries and individuals that do them harm.
