Deep breath

That first day at the beach, the one where you first walk over the dunes and see the ocean. It never gets old.

I keep thinking I will start to take it for granted. Being this close. But so far it is the same every time. Awesome.

Remember when the girly didn’t like the beach? Those were scary times….

These two get busy the second their toes hit the sand.

I love that.

And I love the beach

Especially this beach. And this house. I love this house.

The island is filled with gorgeous houses

And I love that there are no cars. We did lots of biking.

Cole was fascinated with the guys on their boards

And then it was time to go in for dinner and wait for the rest of the gang to arrive.

After dinner we sat on the balcony and watched the sun go down

After the sun went down a million stars popped out and we continued to sit and stare. And name constellations (with the help of the skyview iPhone app).

Beach time, it’s the best time.

I love your comment about how the kiddos just get busy the minute you get there. The one thing that I did love about our year in FL was the beach and that all I needed was my chair, book and and iced coffee and the minute we would get on that sand my kiddos just had fun…for hours. Bliss!!

The picture of the shells in the sand is breathtaking!!!

It’s hard for me to look at your “beach” pictures when I’m sitting at my desk here in Michigan wearing a turtleneck with a space heater at my feet….brrrrr!

so jealous! I am with you, the first view is always awesome. I don’t think I could ever get tired of the beach. The view is amazing. It is always hard to come home from the beach! I may have to look into going. Any tips, or good rental places?

I agree with ‘it never gets old’. We have that joy every time we cross the bridges to Miami Beach. It is city but the glorious turquoise water, the ships, the skyline bring happiness always. I have to say a sun rise at the lake is as grand, but in a more subtle way. I think it is a gift to be able to recognize our blessings, your kids and your talents among them!
