Sickies

Only a week back to the Northern land and I have two very sick kiddos. It’s been a long week.

And today it’s more of this

My new front yard looks so different than my old one #snow #noforest

I try not to look at the weather in Chapel Hill (60 and sunny). The view is actually quite pretty from the couch- but when Blake walked in at 7pm last night from lacrosse he was FROZEN. And it’s hell week. Which is what the coaches and players call conditioning week.

Hell week #lax

He sat down next to Austin and I and was soooo chatty. We looked at each other and said, “who is this kid?” Oh yeah, the one thats been missing for the last year. Dude is happy to be home.

Princess Shiloh

Whenever Eva is napping- she sneaks into the princess tent

I walked down to the park with the kids- it was funny watching Cole trying to figure out where we were- we used to walk to the same park from the other direction when we lived here last time.

To the park we go

They grabbed sticks and made up stories and were amazed that they can walk in the middle of the street.

Trouble

Our house is pure 1950 thru and thru. Which is great if you like that sort of thing. I don’t. But since it’s all going to get gutted I have to be patient and live with what’s here. That means scrubbing everything. Like this light. So gross. Don’t smoke people.

Why it's not a good idea to smoke..cleaning light fixtures. #gross #remodel

Austin walked thru the house looking for a place to hang his pull-up bar- there is no trim around the windows and doors in the house. So Andy nailed a 2×4 above a door so Austin could hang his bar. SMH.

But with all the smallness and coziness and lack of bathrooms and hot water and heat, the kids said last night that they love our little house. They like it better than the big fancy one we left behind in NC.

So there you go.

And then the sickies hit

Been a hard day for my little sickie #crud

And I’m going a little crazy

Stuck inside for too many days with sick kids makes this mama muy loco #insaneinthemembrane

But it’s almost Friday. That’s good.

Chapel Hill house supposed to go on the market in a week or two. Anyone want to buy a house?

I am in love with that street and can’t wait to walk on the trail once again. Sorry the kiddos are sick, get well soon. Love you!

I’m so happy that the kids are loving the new house. Great to know that they value family and traditions over material things (the big house in NC).

    Hope everyone feels better soon!

So happy your sweet Blake has found his smile again. I look forward to seeing pics of his happy face! Blessings to your family – sounds like you made the right decision for your crew. 🙂
