I start with Bolthouse 50/50 (my all time fave juice) or OJ

Then I add a banana, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.

If I stop at this point my boys will drink it.

For me, I continue on- I add flax.  And lately I have been adding more things.

My first experiment was adding frozen spinach.  And it worked- couldn’t taste it all.

Inspired by that, I tried frozen broccoli

The broccoli version turned out good- but you could kinda taste the broccoli which didn’t bother me as I like it.

Not sure what I will try next, maybe cauliflower?  Or would that be too gross…?

The other day Eva and I went to Home Goods looking for new sheets and instead I came away with new pillows for my couch, a new lamp, and a flower pot.

I had a hard time deciding between the blue and a lime green, so glad I went with the blue.

Some times a little color is all you need to put a smile on your face.

It’s rainy here and the snow is long gone.  The other day I was up on our balcony throwing a couple bathroom rugs over the edge to dry (I know I am not saving the world by air drying things but something about it just makes me happy- oh and I can only do a few things, dog towels, rugs, etc. otherwise Andy complains about the crunch factor)  Anyway, my neighbor that lives behind me is an ER doctor.  Her husband is a family doctor.  I go to her for advice like when we bought our trampoline (yes the ER sees a lot of injuries but they are usually for ones without nets or bigger kids landing on smaller kids).  I go to her for bandages- like during our remodel when our electrician electrocuted himself and fell off his ladder and cut his arm open and refused to go get stitches.  So anyway, she yells to me from her backyard (which is a ways away and through a bunch of trees) “Hey Elise, I think you are gonna have to call 911 for me!”  I yelled, “WHAT??”  So she said “I can’t move!”  I just stared at her, because through the trees she looked fine.  Then she yelled, “I am surrounded by land mines!!”  Oh yeah.  I looked down at my backyard- same story.  The snow melted and the dog poop from a long winter was EVERYWHERE!  Well everywhere smack in the middle of the backyard, where they prefer to poop.  Sounds like a good job for boys right?-But they always try to bargain with me, I think last year they wanted, and I quote “25 cents per turd”.  And then we would have disagreements about what qualified as a turd, how long it had to be, etc.  Some times it is just easier to do it yourself.

Or wait and make your husband do it.

At any rate, I have been meaning to introduce the new Boho Bag for a while, I finally got some pictures of it.  it is a cross between the Bailey and a large tote.  It’s perfect for Spring.  Because Spring is here.  Finally.

This was a rough winter around here.  Mainly because it just seemed to go on forever.  An ever.  Usually we get a few warm breaks here and there that make it ok.  Nothing like that this year.

But then boom, we get back from Texas and it is sunny and 60.  And all is right in my world again.

This fabric makes me so happy.  You can’t look at it and not feel like you should head outside, go for a walk, have a picnic, put a quilt in the backyard and let the baby crawl around, head to the playground…

Or better yet, pack it with a book, beach towel and head to the shore.   Doesn’t that sound like a great idea?  I love the beach- when I was growing up in North Carolina we went to the beach almost every weekend.  Lately I have been obsessed with all things South Carolina.  Charleston, the islands, low-country living.  The history, the historic homes, the charm.  Book after book that comes into my home has been based there.  I thought it was because of our cold winter.  I just think I need to live close to the beach.  Maybe someday.

Of course I also love New England charm.  Big leafy maple trees and soft green grass.

I’m just not sure where my ideal place would be.

So back to this bag.

I can picture it filled with fresh bread and veggies from the local farmers market.  Can’t you?  We have another month and half before our little towns farmers market starts.

Man I love summer.

Most of us were more than ready for a break- me being one!

Blake is always the good sport, Austin just wanted to go home.

Downtown Memphis was rockin’ early on this Saturday night.

After two days of playing outside in our nice 60 degree weather, today we have rain.  And it’s good because I have lots and lots of laundry to do and things to put away from our trip.

Poor Austin has LAX practice in the rain and then has to go to Cotillion- should be interesting!

That night we had dinner with one of my friends from college.  I wish the lighting was better, here she is with Andy and her daughter, and mine!

After 8 wonderful days with all four kids, today I am down to just one, at least for a couple hours.  And those two hours will be running- we are out of dog food, bird food, people food…

Off to the store we go.

I am not ready for cold weather.  50 is not 70.

When I moved from Michigan to Austin I swore I would never move back north.  But I did.

This was the day we were at Central Market.  We literally spent all day there.  It was just so nice to eat outside and then play.
