Is it worth it???

Sigh.  The idea was a good one anyway- a two day break from my kids and business.  A belated birthday present, a chance to have a conversation with my husband without interuptions.  We have both been working so much lately that we never see each other.

But, after getting the kids used to the idea, my mom here to take care of them, instructions to her for all their school, sports, and routines.  Instructions for the three medications the new puppy is on- which ones are refridgerated, which ones are once a day which ones are twice.  Then the business side, bolts of fabric hauled down the street to my sewing partner Lynne.

I try not to be a little sad when I hitch a ride with her to the airport.  I feel like I am doing a good job.  Then I am informed that my drivers license expired on my birthday.  That means “just a little extra security”.  A little extra.  I had to send my shoes and laptop through the xray machine twice.  I had to be manually searched (at least by a woman).  My bag had to be emptied and each item had to be swabbed down.  My bag for some reason then sent off an alarm so additional searching was needed.  I stood there watching while she swabbed my camera, my laptop, my remodeling magazines, my book, my day planner, my cell phone, my ipod, and a pack of gum.  They gave me my shoes back, and informed me that my co bigelow lip balm (by the way the best stuff ever) needed to be in a plastic bag.  Fortunately they had one to offer.  I would have had to go home if they made me surrender that.

So here I sit, fortunately our airport offers free wireless.  I have my headphones and Al Gore’s Inconvienent truth waiting to watch- nothing like a movie on Global Warming as the plane gets de-iced.

Oh and my “u” key sticks so please insert the letter “u” where ever it is missing- I think I got them all- to many sticky fingers playing on my computer.

Also once again I want to thank everyone for their patience while they wait for their items.  I feel like I just can’t say this enough.  I now have two people that sew with me, but with the amount of orders we get it can still take 3-4 weeks.  Which is actually pretty standard for most bag companies.  I have had so many people send me nice emails about not minding the wait- I really really appreciate it.  I hate to wait- I know it is hard.  Once in a while I will get a nasty email and I try not to let them bring me down.  I think most of us know that if we need a bag  today (or anything else for that matter) we can go to Target, but if we want something a little more special that is made here in the U.S- we buy Indie and are willing to wait.  99% of my customers are very kind caring people.  I just wanted to make sure you guys know that I appreciate it.

So, I am off to not so sunny Florida.  Hopefully I will have wireless there too and if you are waiting on an email from me, I plan to get all cut up in the next couple of days.
