Yesterday Eva and I hit the Park City outlet mall. On the drive out there the sun was shining, and as we climbed higher into the snow-capped mountains I started to feel more at peace with being stuck out here away from my family
Because the reality is that if I was thrown back into my crazy life with this little newborn that has her days and nights mixed up, I would be pulling my hair out. I need a little time to get used to being up half the night, to having someone that I have to watch constantly. I am out of practice.
I was able to hang on to that feeling for most of the day. Until I found out that Utah didn’t sign off on our paperwork until yesterday and Ohio won’t get it until today (Thursday). Ohio is slow. I have heard that 2 weeks is fast for them, but they have also taken up to 6.
I am trying to stay optimistic. But truth is I want to go home. I miss this face.
along with a bunch of others, including the furry ones.
But today is a new day, the sun is shining and Eva and I are going to head over to a park and walk around. I really wish I had brought a stroller!!
First we need to hit Whole Foods for some bread, peanut butter, and jelly. Which I am sure I will be eating a lot of.
The only binky she likes is the big industrial hospital one.

Maybe you can post to the local Craigslist the need to borrow a stroller for a few days (hopefully not weeks…) You may be surprised by someone willing to share for such a good cause.
I can’t get over that hair. It is beautiful. My son had a head full of hair too but hers is just so dark. I can’t wait to see it as she gets older. Happy first Mother’s Day as a mom of a girl:)
Why do you want a big stroller that weighs 4x what the baby weighs? Just tuck her into that baby sling of yours.
I hope time flies ….not terribly fast because you want to cherish this time, but fast enough because your family at home must be lonesome for you both! Let me know if I can help in any way!
I have been following your blog since Andy told all the old Amarillo, TX camp crew about it on an email a LONG time ago. I have been inspired by you and the talents that God has given you…now I am even more inspired by your HUGE heart and your wonderful family! Congratulations Eva! I always thought alot of your Daddy when we all went to camp together….and your mom is a woman to admire. Happiness to you all!
man….i wish it would’ve worked in wichita.
just think of all the fun we could be having!
oh well.
those big puffy baby eyes…i love that.
i would just sit and stroke that hair all day long!
i know exactly what you mean about someone needing you all thetime again.
when we baby-sit i am always thinking “can’t you go play or something?” 🙂
just get used to your big kids doing their own thing.
hope your friday was good.
where are you in utah?
I knew you were in Utah by the photos! Welcome to Utah! We moved here from Houston 3 months ago. I have a stroller I would love to let you borrow. I would be honored to bring it to you and you can use it as long as you need to! Seriously!
