365 - Life

Rest in Peace my dear sweet old dog.

You came into our lives at a time when we didn’t have much, and certainly not the means to take on a third dog.  But we couldn’t let you roam the streets of Austin so we took you in, with the idea that we would find you a home.  Of course you found a home, with us.  Because we couldn’t let you go.  I’m not sure if you were part coyote or part wolf, but we knew you were one or the other.  You were smart, loyal, and so thankful to have a home.  And we were thankful for you.

Thank you for 17 good years.  Please find Bailey, Duke, Spike, and Muffin up there and give them our love.  Well maybe not Muffin.  He might bite you.

I will miss you Astro-  my heart is breaking tonight.

RIP Astro- You were much loved

We will scatter your ashes at the farm- the place you loved to run.

Goodbye good friend.

  5. So sorry. One of the hardest days in our lives was the time we said goodbye to our 17 year old friend. He was a gift to me at the age of 14. He left me when i was 31. Needless to say he shared many ups and downs of life with me. You gave sweet Astro a better life, remember that.

When we lost Safi, a coworker gave me the book, Dog Heaven by Cynthia Rylant – it was meant for Connor, but it helped me, too….
