-Cole brought home his list from the schools book fair. We go over to the school library to buy a few books- only most of the things on his list were not books. We came home with some kind of money machine, a pen with eyeballs that pop out, and a big Star Wars book. I am ok with all this, his reading skills have blown me away this year. I can’t take credit. In fact, I credit reading he learned from watching his older brothers video games.
-While at the book fair, Blake rips a really loud fart. And then walks away and acts like it was from me. Then I see him head towards one of my friends. I quickly rush over to warn her that he is going to do the same to her.
-Listening to vampire weekend with Austin-
me- “did he just say, “you shouldn’t have farted?”
Austin- ” I think so”
Looking up lyrics when we got home, Austin informs me that it was, “you shouldn’t have bought it.”
Verdict- my life has a very strong fart component.
-Cole got mad that Austin kept interupting him and said, “stop breaking through my language”
-While I was seriously dreading winter this year, knowing that by February I am about to pull my hair out- I am warming to the idea. Peaceful snow falling outside, while I snuggle in front of the fire with my sweetie. It’s all good.
-I seriously love where I live. And not just that, I love my house. I know I am always looking elsewhere, and it always makes me realize that it is all perfect right here. Seriously. Perfect.
-I am watching Toy Story 3 with my kids. Sniff. Seriously. The first one came out when my oldest was little, the 2nd one came out when Blake was two. It was his first movie. But he hated loud noise. So in the middle of a hot Texas summer I took him to a theater, with cotton in his ears and a winter hat on that covered his ears and strapped under his chin. He got some stares, but he loved the movie.
-Remember about 6 months ago when I said I bought The Shred? Well I did it once. After walking 3-4 miles almost everyday all summer I decided to join a gym. Now I do a series of classes everyday except Wednesday.
Zumba- Urban Iron (hardest class ever!!- a weight training class for every muscle group)- kickboxing, and Triple Fit (combo of bench, kickboxing, muscle training, and abs). I can’t say that I see much difference except that I am constantly sore!!
-The deck is moving along. Our Ipe wood arrived, and my parents came up for the weekend to help install. Another weekend and it should be done.
Some pics from the weekend
Andy did the framing by himself
The wood was delivered on a cold cold day! Thanks Joel for coming to help!
And had to be removed piece by piece
Andy was excited- he hadn’t built a deck since our Clintonville house
Eva got some Grandparent time
And by afternoon, half of it was done.
Will be happy when the other end gets finished
From now on I am going to try to do my blogging at night after Eva goes to sleep so I can invest more time- right now its get the pics up as fast as I can before little one year old hands try to grab my laptop!

Think Andy will finish the deck before we arrive? 🙂 It’s going to be great. I remember when he helped his dad build our first deck here at home.
Yay for the deck!!
What is it with boys and farts? I am SO over my son farting.
