It’s almost time to tear down our beach house that caught on fire last October so I thought it would be fun to take a look at what we did to it in the short time that we had it. And why it hurt (still hurts) that our careless renters took it all away. These pictures are from the MLS listing before we bought it. This is what our family room looked like when we bought the house. Next up is the kitchen. Original 90’s! Look at that trash compactor! I actually really liked it, it was pretty handy when you live on an island. Those barstools….. I took a can of spray paint to those right away! The front porch. Those rockers were crazy, if you rocked backwards they would tip! The side screened porch The primary bedroom And bathroom The balcony off Primary bedroom 2nd bedroom and bath The crofter The first thing we did was get rid of the awful yellow walls Then we replaced porch furniture Next up was the downstairs half bath We replaced the sink vanity and tiled the floor Then came the big project. We knocked out the entire kitchen We took out the penisula and put in an island going the opposite direction for better flow sanded and refinished the floors New lights for the island and tile backsplash We replaced the dining room table and chairs and all the hardware on the doors We also redid the living area. Put in a gas fireplace and new tile. I LOVED the way it looked New furniture and lamps, sconces, and rugs. Andy built an enclosed area for the washer and dryer Bedrooms. We ripped up all the carpet upstairs and put down vinyl flooring (not shown in these pictures). Replaced all the furniture. And then we started to enjoy it. Unfortunately that was short lived. If you want to see a video of what the inside looks like now you can see it here or here. And follow along as we start all over.
