They said he doesn&#8217;t really like other cats but he is fine with dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2667\" height=\"4000\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7310-2667x4000.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18339\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He has many names. Leo, Kitty Son, Kimball, he doesn&#8217;t seem to care which one you use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7314-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18340\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after that Austin got a cat from one of his friends parents up in Ohio. Ky is a silly guy that is gonna be huge. He is super easy going and walks around chirping. Austin felt like he needed company when he went back to in person teaching and took in little Stella Luna. She is crazy and growls and hisses at everyone and anything lol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7470-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18354\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After all the cats came and then went home with the older boys I decided to get involved with a new <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"animal rescue  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/beautifultogethersanctuary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">animal rescue <\/a>place here in Chapel Hill. I signed up to foster cats as I didn&#8217;t think bringing more dogs into our home was the best idea. The Goldens are SO needy, I call them the toddlers and I can&#8217;t imagine adding more dogs. I found out about Peter and Piper. They were living on their own in a house on Oak Island at the beach. Their owner had been placed into a home about 3 months prior and had to leave them behind. It broke my heart that the only interaction they were getting was someone coming in to feed them once a day.  Andy agreed to take them in as fosters and then we waited for the all the paperwork to go through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7385-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18342\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pete and Piper arrived on a Friday night and they were scared. Of us. Of dogs. Of loud sounds. They had been living in a quiet house their whole lives (almost 4 years).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7377-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18341\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Piper latched onto Eva pretty quick. He loves her &#8220;tent&#8221; bed and I think it makes him feel safe. He is skiddish and has a few freakout moments where he got scared and sent glasses off the counter flying and breaking glass everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7392-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18343\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after taking them in we got a message that someone wanted to adopt them. After chatting with the potential adopter we both agreed it probably wasn&#8217;t the best fit. She wanted outgoing cats to hang with her dog. Piper was still terrified of Hudson and Oakley so I knew that wasn&#8217;t going to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7418-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18346\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile Eva keeps asking if we can keep them. Every day we see progress with them. Especially Pirate Pete who really likes to cuddle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7445-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18347\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Piper is still scared of everything but comes out more and more. Andy says we can&#8217;t keep them, that defeats the purpose of being a foster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7449-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18348\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So we keep taking care of them. Loving on them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7450-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18349\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Piper is Eva and Cole&#8217;s fave. Is that something you would agree to?&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2667\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/85A7456-4000x2667.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18352\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And that is the story of how we adopted two brothers who needed a new home.
