{"id":18373,"date":"2021-05-12T13:43:11","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/?p=18373"},"modified":"2021-05-12T13:43:13","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:43:13","slug":"garlic-caprese-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2021\/05\/12\/garlic-caprese-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"Garlic Caprese Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We made this new garlic bread for dinner last night and I had to save it on here as it was so yummy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1&nbsp;loaf ciabatta bread&nbsp;<em>horizontally cut in half<\/em><\/li><li>4&nbsp;tablespoons&nbsp;salted butter<\/li><li>3&nbsp;cloves&nbsp;garlic&nbsp;<em>minced<\/em><\/li><li>12&nbsp;oz.&nbsp;fresh mozzarella cheese&nbsp;<em>sliced<\/em><\/li><li>1\/2&nbsp;cup&nbsp;balsamic vinegar<\/li><li>2&nbsp;medium tomatoes&nbsp;<em>sliced<\/em><\/li><li>Salt and freshly ground black pepper&nbsp;<em>to taste<\/em><\/li><li>1\/3&nbsp;cup&nbsp;chopped fresh basil<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4000\" height=\"4000\" src=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/img_0137-4000x4000.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18375\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place both sides of the baguette on a large baking sheet with the cut side up.<\/li><li>In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic and spread evenly on bread halves. Place the mozzarella cheese slices on top of the bread, making sure the cheese covers the bread completely. Bake the bread for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.<\/li><li>While the bread is in the oven, make the balsamic reduction. Place the balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan. Bring the vinegar to a boil, decrease the heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is reduced by about half. This should only take about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.<\/li><li>Remove the bread from oven. Top the bread with tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Add the fresh basil and drizzle with balsamic reduction.
