I meant to do another book post a while back so now you get January through May. I set a goal on Goodreads <\/a>to read 50 books this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far I am keeping pace but I do have to say that I have granted myself the grace to put books down. I used to plow on through books that didn’t hook me right away (and usually was glad that I did) but lately with the crazy year it’s been I just want to read something I like. So if it doesn’t grab me in the first few chapters- adios. And I am the first to admit that I have put down books that others have raved about so who knows. I will add my “dnf” (did not finish) books last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was you<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really liked this one and gave it 4 stars. I am not an empty nester yet but I do have two kiddos that are out of the house so I could relate to this story and the pull of the days when they were younger. Very good thriller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Night Swim<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is another 4 star for me. It’s about a true crime podcaster (which I also love). Good solid twisty thriller!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Invisible Girl<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was on a roll with 4 stars thrillers. This one was a bit creepy but really good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Girl in the Mirror<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I liked the story of this early on and it was fast and easy. 3 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confessions on the 7:45<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was excited to start this one but it was only a 3 star for me. I still enjoyed it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t look for me<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know how you can sometimes figure out how things will end or at least partially figure it out? This one was not one of those. 4 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regretting you<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was really looking forward to reading this one because I love Colleen Hoover books but this one just didn’t do it for me. 3 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we believed in Mermaids<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really liked this one. Probably could have given it 5 stars but I’m kinda stingy with those. 4 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Holiday<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a quick and easy read. 4 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wow. I put 4 stars for this one as well but really should have been a 5. No words, just read it. As one reviewer said “Warning: Verity is not going to melt your heart. It’s going to fry your soul.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silent patient<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clearly I am into the thrillers this year. This one did not disappoint. 4 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I liked this one. Very Agatha Christie-ish. 4 stars<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really liked this one going in. Ended up giving it a 3. Still worth the read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell and this one did not disappoint. 4 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the missing girls<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This one was a 3 for me. Felt kinda slow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riley Sagers books are always super interesting. This one was just a 3 for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Third Wife<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another 4 star Lisa Jewell<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would call this one Medium Summer. 3 stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ok now for my did not finish list. A LOT of people loved these so I am sure it is just me lol. Listing them here because who knows, maybe I will come back to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
