Yesterday I had a remodeling company come out to talk to me about adding on to our house.\u00a0 We have been living in limbo for so long- should we add on, should be move. where can I have a studio, should I just get a storefront?\u00a0 This is the 2nd company we have had over to talk about an addition.\u00a0 I don’t want a big house, I prefer character over size.\u00a0 But the reality is we are a family of 5 and my goal is to make this house function better for us.\u00a0 There are things I don’t want to give up, like my screened in porch.\u00a0 I have found that this is my favorite room of the house when the weather is warm.\u00a0 I don’t know how I ever lived without one.\u00a0 Now that the weather has warmed up my friends and I have been hanging out there a lot watching the kiddos play in the backyard.\u00a0 I am looking more at tweeking what we have, and adding a small family room in the back but of course the ideal space for the family room is where my screened porch now sits.\u00a0 So that means a new family room plus a new screend porch…ugh.<\/p>\n

Then there is the studio question.\u00a0 We have been tossing around the idea of opening a store in Old Worthington<\/a>.\u00a0 It would be nice to walk to work.\u00a0 My kids school is within walking distance too.\u00a0 It’s tempting, it would solve some problems and I would have space for people to come in and sew and cut.\u00a0 The best thing is that I could walk away from it at the end of the day instead of having it always there.<\/p>\n

But on the flip side, I enjoy working from home.\u00a0 I like to step outside and breathe fresh air every now and then.\u00a0 I like to watch MTV while I sew.\u00a0 I like the freedom.<\/p>\n
