{"id":224,"date":"2007-05-17T08:18:02","date_gmt":"2007-05-17T13:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2007\/05\/17\/back-when-i-was-a-scrapbooker\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T13:10:31","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T17:10:31","slug":"back-when-i-was-a-scrapbooker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2007\/05\/17\/back-when-i-was-a-scrapbooker\/","title":{"rendered":"Back when I was a scrapbooker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I stumbled on a few old pictures and actually made a couple of pages.\u00a0 The first picture was taken when we lived in California and went up to the mountains for a day of sledding.\u00a0 I was probably three at the time.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tt-flickr\" href=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/photos\/photo\/502015580\/Elisa_Scrapbook.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"387\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Elisa Scrapbook\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/199\/502015580_2d90943770.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see I was\/am a very simple scrapper!<\/p>\n<p>I do think it is very important to get your memories down for your future generations, whether it&#8217;s in a journal or like my father-in-law with a little tape recorder.\u00a0\u00a0 Unfortunately I just don&#8217;t do it any more.\u00a0 I keep telling myself I will, but time is always my enemy.<\/p>\n<p>The other page I pulled out recently was this one<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tt-flickr\" href=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/photos\/photo\/502015584\/Elisa_Scrapbook.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"378\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Elisa Scrapbook\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/207\/502015584_9a3e88df83.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My oldest son is very curious about war lately.\u00a0 He has checked out two books from the library about Vietnam and did a book report on one of them.\u00a0 He asks me a lot of questions about what it was like to be a Marine and be in Vietnam- my dad was there twice.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know the answers to his questions.\u00a0 We never talked about it when I was growing up.\u00a0 Austin says he read that the soldiers were told to never talk about it.\u00a0 I guess he read that in one of his books.\u00a0 I know he doesn&#8217;t want gory details, I think he just wants to know what life was like.\u00a0 What they ate, where they slept, did they ride in tanks?\u00a0 That sort of thing.<\/p>\n<p>Kids have questions and are curious about our lives and I love the fact that there are so many ways to record and remember our histories.\u00a0 It&#8217;s just a matter of doing it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I stumbled on a few old pictures and actually made a couple of pages.\u00a0 The first picture was taken when we lived in California and went up to the mountains for a day of sledding.\u00a0 I was probably three at the time.
