I am watching a hockey game, kids are in bed but not asleep. Let’s see how it goes.

Today was a crazy day of weird weather, started warm and sunny, ended up cold and very windy. Tomorrow is supposed to be very cold. Can we just get some snow?? I would love a big fat blizzard. I am ready for some sledding, some tromping through the snow. I love the way my neighborhood looks in the snow. A couple times I have walked from my friend Lynne’s house down the street back up to my house, right in the middle of the road with my big Golden Retriever running here and there- total white out. Loving every minute of it. There are things about winter that are just so cool.

So back to this crazy wind storm we had today. I was convinced we would lose power. Because we always do. But it held on. What didn’t hold on is our old coyote dog. Somehow he ended up in one of our deep window wells for our basement. I heard him barking when I went down to the basement. Then saw him in the window. He was stuck.

Thank goodness Aimee was here. Not only did she rescue me with a mid afternoon Starbucks but she helped me lug my geriatric dog out of the well. He was scared, and had puked. I don’t know how long he had been in there- the dogs had only been outside for about an hour. Needless to say he was very happy to get out.

I need book ideas.

Last night I finished reading the latest Jodi Picoult (which was ok, but it broke one of my rules) and now I need a new book. Anyone have a suggestion? Remember my rules- no cancer, no children dieing, no depression. It seems like such a common theme in books these days- women (or sisters) are good friends or reunite after a long time, only to find out one of them has cancer and is dieing. Seriously getting old. So…. if you have any funny books, give me a heads up. And if you told me before, tell me again. In the meantime I think I will read Austin’s book he just finished called The Hunger Games. I have heard it is good.

UPS man has been at my door every day. I am doing all of my shopping online and it has been very cool. Of course when you do your shopping online, it is also easy to slip in some stuff for yourself. For instance, a Dyson has arrived, along with a vintage looking mailbox. The UPS man also brought a shipment from Amy Butler as well

Some serious fun.

Tomorrow morning I have a yearbook meeting at the school, plus Kindergarten classroom volunteering so I am writing my blog post the night before.
