I reversed the schedule today.\u00a0 Fun center ended yesterday so all the boys were home all day today.\u00a0 Around 1pm they wanted to hit the pool so off we went.\u00a0 I forgot what it is like to go at this time of the day.\u00a0 It’s hot.\u00a0 Because we usually go late afternoon I can forgo the sunscreen but at 1pm the sun is baring down!\u00a0 My kids are very diverse when it comes to their skin color.\u00a0 One is a whitey with freckles, one is honey colored, and one is south of the border.\u00a0 I love this about them.\u00a0 I get asked if they have the same dad, and if they are really brothers.\u00a0 Most people say that it all makes sense when you see us all together.\u00a0 Anyway it is usually the whitey that I have to keep my eye on but somehow it was my little brown friend that was looking a little pink.\u00a0 Lately he has taken to putting a towel over his whole body (including head) during rest period.\u00a0 Today he did this while eating pizza.\u00a0 This kid gets a lot of attention.\u00a0 He’s very tall for his age and his dark skin, hair and eyes sets him apart from everyone else.\u00a0 Even though all the comments he gets are complimentary, it seems to be taking a toll lately.\u00a0 He doesn’t want to be so tall, he doesn’t want to get a “tan”.\u00a0 He absolutely has no idea how good he’s got it.\u00a0 He just knows he wants to be like everyone else.\u00a0 That will change.\u00a0 He is already a chick magnet.<\/p>\n
After the pool Andy I hit the bank for our closing on our construction loan.\u00a0 After signing over our lives we went home for some dinner.\u00a0 Austin and I hit the bike trail for some after dinner recreation.\u00a0 While we were riding I thought about when I learned to ride a two wheeler- my big blue schwinn with the banana seat.\u00a0 My dad, probably right around my age now, held my bike as I wobbled down the side walk.\u00a0 A near-by catholic church had the best sidewalk that twisted and turned and were the best for bike riding.\u00a0 I hope my kids remember things like that too.<\/p>\n
