{"id":387,"date":"2008-01-25T10:32:59","date_gmt":"2008-01-25T15:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/25\/from-barefeet-to-uggs\/"},"modified":"2008-01-25T10:32:59","modified_gmt":"2008-01-25T15:32:59","slug":"from-barefeet-to-uggs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/25\/from-barefeet-to-uggs\/","title":{"rendered":"From barefeet to Uggs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amazing that in two hours we can go from tropical breezes to frigid temps!\u00a0 To make matters worse, after Andy (who always gets a flu shot but missed it at work this year) got a positive flu test- three more of us started coming down with it.\u00a0 Fortunately my doctor called me in a script for Tamiflu down to Orlando\u00a0 so I am trying to nip mine in the bud.\u00a0 I <em>can&#8217;t<\/em> get sick. Blake and Cole were not so lucky.\u00a0 Despite the fact that Blake got the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flumist.com\/\">fluMist <\/a>this year he came down with it anyway.\u00a0 Cole had a blazing fever before we got on the plane to head home last night and the security people felt sorry for me and let me carry on my liquid Motrin.\u00a0 He ended up sleeping the whole way home which was great.\u00a0 We got in 10pm, picked Zoey up and drove on home.\u00a0 Caught the last few minutes of the Bluejackets game, a win against Chicago.\u00a0 As everyone started settling into bed Blake was sounding more and more croupy (he has chronic croup) so into the hot shower he went.\u00a0 When that didn&#8217;t work Andy took him outside into the subzero weather.\u00a0 That didn&#8217;t work.\u00a0 He started to panic because he really couldn&#8217;t breathe so Andy rushed him off to the ER.\u00a0 4 hours and a few breathing treatments later he was on his way back home and to bed.\u00a0 Cole and I were up as he was pretty delirious from his fever and I was trying to make him take more Motrin.\u00a0 What a mess.<\/p>\n<p>Austin woke up feeling bad so they all stayed home from school.\u00a0 Blake can&#8217;t stop coughing and his voice is gone.\u00a0 We are off to the doctor to hopefully get some major cough medicine for him and some Tamiflu for Cole- if it isn&#8217;t too late.<\/p>\n<p>All in all between dr trips in Orlando, Er visits here, and now two more trips in, plus all the meds- well let&#8217;s just say we could have funded another vacation.<\/p>\n<p>Get your flu shots people!\u00a0 Lesson learned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazing that in two hours we can go from tropical breezes to frigid temps!\u00a0 To make matters worse, after Andy (who always gets a flu shot but missed it at work this year) got a positive flu test- three more of us started coming down with it.\u00a0 Fortunately my doctor called me in a script for Tamiflu down to Orlando\u00a0 so I am trying to nip mine in the bud.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t get sick.
