{"id":501,"date":"2008-05-13T08:14:30","date_gmt":"2008-05-13T13:14:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/13\/magazines\/"},"modified":"2008-05-13T08:14:30","modified_gmt":"2008-05-13T13:14:30","slug":"magazines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/13\/magazines\/","title":{"rendered":"Magazines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I think I have mentioned before that I am somewhat of a magazine addict.\u00a0 And I was thinking the other day how interesting it is that the magazines that I have bought over the years change as I go through different phases of life.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the ones I rememeber<\/p>\n<p>It started with Horse magazines.\u00a0 I think it was called Horse Fancy or Horse Illustrated- something like that.\u00a0 Back when I was young, and had a horse.\u00a0 That was my life.<\/p>\n<p>Then it was the fashion mags, like Glamour and Vogue<\/p>\n<p>Next came the fitness phase- Shape<\/p>\n<p>Babies were next- Mothering Magazine, Creating Keepsakes (for all those pictures of the babies)<\/p>\n<p>Remodeling came next- a couple years of figuring out what to do with my house.\u00a0 This included all those Better Homes and Gardens that you can only buy at the store and are a whopping $7 per issue or something insane like that.<\/p>\n<p>Also included- This Old House, Inspired House<\/p>\n<p>Then there is the current list.<\/p>\n<p>Cottage Living.\u00a0 My all time favorite magazine.\u00a0 This one is just perfect for me, I never get tired of looking at it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cottageliving.com\/cottage\/images\/2007\/09\/icons_dutchdoor_l.jpg\" \/>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cottageliving.com\/cottage\/images\/2007\/09\/icons_fence_l.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.timeinc.net\/aolhome\/i\/design\/sa\/01\/09\/SA0109232c_1_v.jpg\" \/>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/img.timeinc.net\/aolhome\/i\/design\/su\/02\/11\/SU0211118k_1_l.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My other favorite is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thebark.com\/\">Bark<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thebark.com\/images\/mag_cover_large.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>this magazine gets the best writers, like Anna Quindlen and David Sedaris.<\/p>\n<p>I also get a variety of other house magazines.<\/p>\n<p>Then there are a few that come through the door for other family memebers<\/p>\n<p>Newsweek<\/p>\n<p>Nintendo Power<\/p>\n<p>So there is my light topic for the day.\u00a0 With all the death and destruction that has happened in the last week I dread turning on the tv.\u00a0 Thoughts and prayers to everyone that has suffered a loss.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I have mentioned before that I am somewhat of a magazine addict.\u00a0 And I was thinking the other day how interesting it is that the magazines that I have bought over the years change as I go through different phases of life.
