{"id":60,"date":"2006-09-13T08:34:44","date_gmt":"2006-09-13T13:34:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2006\/09\/13\/people-are-strange\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T13:09:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T17:09:17","slug":"people-are-strange","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2006\/09\/13\/people-are-strange\/","title":{"rendered":"People are strange"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My kids are a little strange.\u00a0 And I will admit they come by it honestly.\u00a0 Take my first born for example, he is a typical first born- wound up a little too tight.\u00a0 For his birthday he got a <a title=\"ds lite\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/systemsds\" target=\"_blank\">Nintendo Ds Lite<\/a>.\u00a0 He is very meticulous with this thing, washing his hands before he plays, not letting anyone else even breathe on it.\u00a0 On the way to the dentist the other day we had the following conversation.<\/p>\n<p>A- &#8220;I think I am going to ask Dr. Scott not to blow up his gloves at the end to make a balloon.\u00a0 I think I want to take the gloves home so I can play my DS without getting fingerprints on it.<\/p>\n<p>E- &#8220;No way, you will not!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A- &#8220;why?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>E- &#8220;Because that is just way too weird.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A- &#8220;why is it weird?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>E- &#8220;do you want the long list or the short list?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So he gave up on that.\u00a0 A few minutes later he starts talking about his math homework and how he is worried about how he didn&#8217;t understand &#8220;borrowing&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>My middle child, who lives in a very happy world of his own said, &#8220;oh I learned about borrowing today at school too when I couldn&#8217;t find my markers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This of course made my first born nuts.\u00a0 How can life be so hard for one and so easy for the next??<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My kids are a little strange.\u00a0 And I will admit they come by it honestly.\u00a0 Take my first born for example, he is a typical first born- wound up a little too tight.\u00a0 For his birthday he got a Nintendo Ds Lite.\u00a0 He is very meticulous with this thing, washing his hands before he plays, not letting anyone else even breathe on it.\u00a0 On the way to the dentist the other day we had the following conversation.
