{"id":62,"date":"2006-09-15T20:20:16","date_gmt":"2006-09-16T01:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2006\/09\/15\/confessions-of-a-magazine-addict\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T13:09:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T17:09:17","slug":"confessions-of-a-magazine-addict","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.elisalou.com\/blog\/2006\/09\/15\/confessions-of-a-magazine-addict\/","title":{"rendered":"Confessions of a magazine addict"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My kids have a magazine fundraiser at their school every fall and it is the perfect excuse for me, the magazine addict, to order a bunch.\u00a0\u00a0 With 40% going to their school I can easily convince myself it is for a good cause.<\/p>\n<p>So here is my list and review, including the newest ones added this year.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"cottage living\" href=\"https:\/\/elisalou.com\/blog\/www.cottageliving.com\" target=\"_blank\">Cottage Living<\/a>&#8211; my all time favorite magazine<\/p>\n<p>Renovation Syle- this one never disappoints me, always a good source of inspiration for our never ending remodeling<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"country living\" href=\"http:\/\/www.countryliving.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Country Living<\/a>&#8211; this one is hit or miss.\u00a0 I am not into all the anitque stuff.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"country home\" href=\"http:\/\/www.countryhome.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Country Home<\/a>&#8211; better than Country Living but still hit or miss<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oprah.com\/presents\/oathome\/oathome_landing.jhtml\" target=\"_blank\">O Home<\/a>&#8211; this one I just added this year<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dominomag.com\/\">domino<\/a>&#8211; just added this one this year<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">bark<\/a>&#8211; just got this one, can&#8217;t wait to read it<\/p>\n<p>Better Homes and Gardens- used to not like this one, then started liking it, but it has been disappointing for the last 6 months.\u00a0 Although I love their special issues for remodeling and such<\/p>\n<p>American Patchwork and Quilting- this is ok, I like the BH&#038;G QUilts and More magazine better<\/p>\n<p>Creating Keepsakes- used to love this magazine but I haven&#8217;t scrapbooked in a year and so this one hardly ever gets read.\u00a0 Some where along the line I picked up a really long subscription to this.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So I think that is it.\u00a0 Of course the rest of family gets their own mags too, Nintendo Power, Family Hanyman, Business 5.0, This old house<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ok well it seemed like a lot when I was writing them all down.\u00a0 And I do realize that this is a pretty boring post but it&#8217;s a Friday night and I am in my pj&#8217;s by 9pm, skipping out on girls night once again.\u00a0 SO the conclusion here is that I lead a pretty boring life considering that I am writing about magazines, in my pj&#8217;s, on a Friday night, sigh.\u00a0 Maybe I should just go to bed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My kids have a magazine fundraiser at their school every fall and it is the perfect excuse for me, the magazine addict, to order a bunch.\u00a0\u00a0 With 40% going to their school I can easily convince myself it is for a good cause.
