I am so glad the election is over. <\/p>\n

It has been an ugly one.<\/p>\n

I went to bed last night not knowing the results, but woke up at midnight to check in.<\/p>\n

I saw something last night online that someone related to me wrote. A racial slur. And my heart broke. Because I love this person dearly.<\/p>\n

Actually my heart started beating really fast and I thought that I was going to throw up.<\/p>\n

It took me a good hour to calm down.<\/p>\n

Mostly because I just don’t understand.<\/p>\n

The lack of respect is shocking. <\/p>\n

I hope I am raising my kids to be respectful. Even when things don’t go your way.<\/p>\n

Because there are going to be a lot things that aren’t going to go their way.<\/p>\n

And when they don’t I hope they don’t come out swinging with ignorant hurtful words.<\/p>\n

Words that can fuel all kinds of ugliness and hate.<\/p>\n

Disagreement is ok. That’s what makes life interesting. <\/p>\n

Violence and racism are not.<\/p>\n

So once again I unplugging from social media until things calm down.<\/p>\n
