The other day I went to look at a very old victorian house with a friend of mine.<\/p>\n

I will be the first to admit that while I love old houses more than most people, victorians are my least favorite.<\/p>\n

Back in the 1800’s when these houses were built people were a bit dark- like a bit goth-ish.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Don’t get me wrong- the details were absolutely amazing. The trim, the history, the transoms….<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\"\"<\/p>\n

But you can’t tell me you don’t think of Wednesday Addams<\/a> when you see Eva at the piano in the picture below. If only she were wearing black instead of neon green.<\/p>\n

It didn’t help that the house filled with other Addams Family like stuff<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

like creepy dolls everywhere- even on the walls<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

But back to the house. I’m thinking that not only did people in the 1800’s have a dark side but they also weren’t very big. All the stairs were kinda skinny but the backstairs were steep AND skinny.<\/p>\n

The main staircase was cool though<\/p>\n

My personal style is open and airy with lots of natural light and big white trim. I could appreciate all the work that went into this house though.<\/p>\n

Eva cried when we went up to the attic. It was pretty creepy and obvious slaves had been kept up there.<\/p>\n
