Let the festivities begin.
Actually I am feeling pretty lame this year as far as Halloween goes. I’m tired, with too much hanging over my head. We have had plans every night since last Friday but finally, after tonight, a breather. I don’t do well being away from home every night. I am a homebody. I like to snuggle in with the kiddos and doggies. Today is actually yucky outside, it’s going to be a rainy trick or treat.
Tonight is a pizza party here and then the kids are off to do their thing. I will be sewing in between giving of the treats. Lots and lots of sewing to get done.
The concert was fun. I must admit that I was a tad disppointed that they didn’t interact more with the crowd but that’s the way it goes. We had really good seats and Flea was wearing some weird body suite.
I need a nap but instead I am off to sew and leave you with a picture of my little girl when she was a baby.
So sweet. 90 pounds later she is still very cute.

Last weekend my mother-in-law and I hit the Chihuli exhibit. Not as good as the first time we saw it but always an inspiration
The glass and color is amazing.
I especially like these organic pieces, that look like a magical garden
I saw a little film once on how this piece was put together. Each on of those swirls placed in one at a time. I got nervous just watching, being the clumsy girl that I am.
imagine this on your ceiling, with the light coming through. I could stare at it for hours.
So if you ever get the opportunity to see a Chihuli exhibit, don’t pass it up.
A busy day in the studio. Lots of bags to make.

So I got an email this morning from my sister-in-law asking if I would be willing to take my nieces senior picture. My first thought was What? She can’t be that old. My second thought was panic. I am not a photographer, how can I take a picture that is “senior picture” worthy??! Fortunately my niece Clara is gorgeous and probably can’t take a bad picture. But can she really be that old??
Here is a picture I took of her under one of my parents apple trees, seems like yesterday.
and yes, I actually scrapbooked it.
So now you know where the name of the latest bag came from. In case you were wondering. Lily is Clara’s old dog. Who knows who Mary Jane is, my husband came up with that one. Along with the bucket bag. I’m sticking to my nieces- expect to see a Jordyn, Emma, and Grace in the near furture. Oh and dogs, Bailey and Barley. After that I’m not sure what I will do. Get another dog I guess. Just kidding. Sorta.

Baby it’s cold outside! What happened to Fall? The leaves are looking gorgeous but the temps could be a little better. The boys have a fall party and a pumpkin carving party this weekend, wish it was a little warmer.
Speaking of winter, these bags are really looking great for winter. Had to snap a couple shots before they were shipped out to their new owners.
Loving the look of this Melrose pattern with the red on the Lily Bag.
It works on the tote too with the white circles
And if red ain’t your thang, here is the tote in brown and black
And last, how cute is this?? This was a special order that someone ordered for her daughter.
A lunch tote. I may just have to add it to the product line.

Recently I was contacted by the girls at Cool Mom Picks because they are going to be on cable doing a tv show via Alpha Moms. The topic is hip baby products. It will be broadcast on Comcast Cable which unfortunately I don’t have but I am hoping that they will also put it on their website. They are showcasing my cowboy blanket that they featured on their site back in April. I’m excited to see how it all turns out.
Also if you want to read a little blurb on my company I was the featured artist this week on this handbag site.
So now it’s back to work, more bags to make.

The boys have been begging to go bowling lately so while the Grandparents were here we headed out last night to have some fun.
The lighting was bad so the pictures aren’t too great but I couldn’t resist these
And then there was Cole, who had a little trouble getting his ball to roll all the way down

At one point Andy timed how long it took Cole’s ball to get down the lane. 23 seconds.
Then Cole decided he liked the blower best

We are excitedly awaiting the arrival of Grandma and Grandad from Texas. There are floors to be vacuumed and sheets to be washed, toys to be picked up. But first, a cup of coffee. We like it when Grandma and Grandad come, Grandad is the best baby (I mean big kid) sitter and Grandma is an awesome sewer. The only bummer this time around is that I won’t get a quilt out of it. Too many bags to work on. She has no idea what’s in store- lots and lots of bags. Usually when she comes I have a quilt all cut out and she helps me sew it together.
We will be replacing the downstairs windows with the help of Grandad, hope he is ready for that. But never fear, there is also some fun on the agenda. We will be visiting the Chihuly exhibit. We saw it a couple years ago when it came through before. It is so cool, so much color. If it ever comes through your town, go see it! Lots of pictures to come on that one I’m sure. Look here for more cool Chihuly.

Feeling the woes of a small studio. I am up to my ears in fabric and quickly running out of room. We have ideas, but we can’t decide. In the meantime I drive myself crazy trying to make it all work.
