November was a crazy month of going back and forth to the beach. Our old neighbors in Ohio decided to buy a house on BHI so we met them over there for a weekend to help them look at some options. They ended up making an offer on a house which was super exciting.
Took lots of walks around the neighborhood looking at houses and trying to get ideas for what sort of landscaping we want to add to ours. We were able to save one palm that is in the front and most of the trees in the maritime forest behind us did ok.
Cosmo is loving the beach trips and it is so fun to take him. He has fallen right in with the island life. He had the best time running like crazy with our friends dog Ash.
Hudson still enjoys it as well which makes me super happy.
We decided to go for Thanksgiving this year and Andy’s birthday. The firepits at the club were so nice to hang by, the weather was perfect
Took in lots of sunrises and sunsets as usual and just tried to process my dad passing away.
We stayed on the marsh this trip and it was a nice change of pace and super pretty
We checked on the house
It was about this time that our family dynamics changed. We were a bit blind sided and took some time to just let it sink in that moving forward our family would look a bit different.
It was a crazy time and we were pretty sad but like every other bad thing that has happened recently we cried, gave each other pep talks, and then we moved on. And it’s ok, things change and life still moves forward. Super super thankful for friends over the holiday season that weathered this storm with us. As well as my mom and Andy’s parents. Life is weird and hard and ever changing and you just got to make the decision for it to be ok. So you can be ok.
This guy helps. I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t have him. He was the distraction, the constant love, and cuddles that we needed.
I love this picture. Cosmo and I were in the cart behind them and he jumped off. Hud is just such a pro lounging on the back and looked at him like “such an amateur”
I made a big batch of comfort food Chex Mix. Loved the heart on it. Everything is gonna be ok.
We enjoyed more sunsets and walks on the beach
The island started decorating for Christmas. It’s always such a fun time to be there.
We went to the tree lighting with our Ohio friends and sang Feliz Navidad and drank hot chocolate and ate cookies
Back home we enjoyed some warm weather and started decorating the house. We wanted to make sure we could still make things joyful despite all that had happened
And took some time to just relax, read and reset. Onward we go.
