luck

Posted in ElisaLou at 11:26 am by Elisa

are you lucky? My husband is. He is always winning things, and good things too.

A few days ago we attended the Blue Jackets Hats for Heroes which is a benefit to fight pediatric cancer.

Andy bought a lot of raffle tickets ans sure enough, won a team signed jersey

And since I don’t allow him to actually wear hockey jerseys (only the kids) I guess this one will have to go on the wall in the basement.

I am trying to decide what to do with the Adam Foote (the ex-captain that just ditched the team) signed hockey puck- I am considering tossing it in his front yard, or maybe I should put it in his mailbox. Hmm…..

The Day

Posted in ElisaLou at 7:04 pm by Elisa

Do you ever look at the clock and wonder how it got to be 7pm?  I am trying to figure out how the day got away from me.  So here we go, the day

5:45am- Andy leaves for meetings in NYC

6am- Astro, our geriatric dog starts to bark because he has to pee.  Once he wakes up he doesn’t seem to realize that he could go back to sleep- nope he’s up and next is a good pee.

I ignore him until 6:30.  Get up, let all the dogs out and then back in, feed them.  Turn on the news, there is a 2 hour delay for the boys school.  Snow. I let them sleep and do some laundry.

Answer emails

Boys get up, head to Starbucks for a LARGE coffee and hot chocolate.

Feed the boys, take them to school

Go to Easton to meet up with Aimee to give her more cut and interfaced bags, pick up the ones she finished sewing.

Home and more laundry
Lunch for Cole and then Cole to school

Studio time

Pack up bags for shipping

Pick boys up from school

Studio

Dinner

Studio

And now it is 7pm and we are settling in to watch the Blue Jackets.

And then to bed.

Andy home at 10pm- hopefully.

Whew.

Another Blue Jackets Post

Posted in ElisaLou at 7:59 pm by Elisa

In honor of all the trading that went on in the NHL today…

Actually not really. We took the boys to meet Jared Boll tonight. One of our favorite Blue Jacket players.

I was really wishing that I had taken a shower after my work-out when they told me to jump in the picture….

Stinger being goofy at our table.

We love our Blue Jackets.

The longest February eh-vah

Posted in ElisaLou at 6:32 pm by Elisa

More snow on the way tonight.  I love snow, I’m not asking for Spring in February- however- I do want the kids to go to school.  Growing up in northern lands we didn’t get out of school much for snow- it leaves me scratching my head when they call a snow day when we just get a few inches.

So for dinner, turkey chili and yummy Trader Joe’s cornbread (if you haven’t tried it yet you MUST)

AND we have LOST on DVR to watch.  Yay.  When the Blue Jackets play on Thursday nights it means that Lost gets dvr-ed for a different night.

Happy Monday

Passed Out

Posted in ElisaLou at 4:04 pm by Elisa

When Andy and I got home Saturday night from a friends birthday party we found Cole here

We took the boys ice skating Saturday afternoon and he was just wiped out.  I was sorta hoping that I could get the hockey bug out of them as we really don’t need to add one more sport to the list but all three came away wanting to play.

Crap

Another Snow Day!

-10am- boys already fighting

-a broken PS controller

-lots of name calling (especially by the 4 year old who’s favorite word is “punk”)

-everyone needs something- all at the same time.

- out the door for a romp through the neighborhood with the pooches to maintain my sanity.

I’m going crazy!!

Corners of home

Posted in ElisaLou at 9:31 am by Elisa

During the remodel I had planned for this little nook to be a window seat but I found this bookshelf at Target and it fit perfectly.  It is right between the master bath and the master closet.

My favorite bracelets up on top and a picture of me and baby Cole at the Outer Banks- all good things.

What’s for dinna?

Posted in ElisaLou at 3:13 pm by Elisa

Has any one seen Carries new dinner challenge blog?

Dinner is always a challenge for me.  I hate cooking.  I like my meals to come like this

open and eat.  Yum.

It doesn’t help when my husband calls me from work to tell me about the gourmet meals that someone cooks for him every day.  I always start to whine, who cooks for me??  When he extends an offer for me to join him for lunch (which isn’t very often) I find it hard to eat- what woman in her right mind wants to shove a bunch of food in her face with all the life-size photos of super duper skinny super-models in their underwear staring at you?

So any way I guess I might have to check out the dinner challenge blog a little more.  Although I do have tonights dinner planned- tortellini soup.  Perfect for the snowy weather we are supposed to get tonight.  In front of the fire, watching the Blue Jackets get their butts kicked, again.

And the newsletter should go out tonight.

Out the door

Posted in ElisaLou at 10:27 am by Elisa

Trying to get more photos as they head out the door.  The website needs a revamp and the only way to do that is take more pictures.  That and whip out the Zen cart book to actually figure out how to fix all that is wrong with the site.

This batch is going to Michigan, the laptop sleeves to New Zealand.  My kids love it when the bags are off to far-away places.

This bunch doesn’t have far to travel

Next round going out Tuesday!
