Life

Today

could only be started in one way.  With a trip to Starbucks.

I woke up grumpy.  This has been a long week.

Last night my dishwasher broke- again.  It’s only 2 years old, I had it repaired about 6 months ago for the EXACT same problem.  I have a sink full of dirty dishes and bottles.

My husband has not been home before 8pm all week.  In the last few months his job has steadily taken over his life.  Nights, weekends, you name it.

I could deal with being the single parent of 4 kids if he loved his job.  But he doesn’t.  And now is talking of looking elsewhere.  Ironically, he is trying to convince others there not to quit. He is not the only one that is fed up.  It’s a big fat mess.

I don’t want to move, but I want him to be happy.  And I want my kids to have their dad around.  So…. I am making a mental list of where I would be willing to move…

Today I am thinking some place warm 🙂

In the meantime, my warm peppermint mocha is making my mood much better.

We are working steadily to get orders made and out the door, and I feel comfortable with the process. It’s a full day in the studio for me again today.

I feel lucky- I love my job.  And I can work anywhere.  Well, as long as Aimee moves with me.

Moving on.

Check out these

Amy Butler Towels Organic cotton towels from Amy Butler.  It looks like they are the wallflower pattern.  I think I need some of these.  Mom, if you are reading this…hint hint- Christmas present.  I want the red and white ones 🙂

  1. Elisa,

I’m sorry to hear Andy is not happy with his job. My husband goes through that a lot too. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he is self employed and has been for 19 years, so looking elsewhere wouldn’t be in the cards for us. I think it would be great to move someplace warm! I live in Oregon, which is absolutely beautiful, but WET. 🙂

Anyway, I just had to say thanks for the idea. I’d forgotten about peppermint mochas. I’m off to Starbucks! 🙂 Hope your day gets better.

  2. I hear your hurt in your post and my heart hurts with you…I know it’s not warmer here…but, keep an open mind to Utah. Andy’s fabulous – any business would be crazy not to hire him.

  3. I’m glad you treated yourself to Starbucks. Some days just scream for a venti peppermint mocha.

I’m sorry to hear about Andy’s job…that is so hard. And no fun for you either. I’m with you on the moving someplace warm idea.

    Hang in there today!

  4. I am lucky that my husband loves his job BUT that means that we have to move around and now I am up here in Cincy where I am not happy about the weather. It is cold and dreary. If you move to the warm weather, could you take me? I am a great cook;)

  5. (Hugs) We are dealing with the married to the job issue too. Zach has been in high demand these days with a few spur of the moment trips which are always hard. I try to look at it as even if he is working long hours at home, he is here and not traveling. I hope things get better for you soon. And hey, it’s warm in San Diego!

  6. seems to be so cyclical when you work for Limited. Brad has been with the company for FIFTEEN years now. Wow. And he has had some horrible long terrible dark and dreary years:( Just as hard for you. Makes me sad for you.
