May

Eva’s outfit kinda sums up Spring around here this year. Uggs and shorts. It didn’t feel like it was ever going to get warm.

At the end of April we decided to show our house to a few people one afternoon that had contacted us when they found out we were moving. We felt like if nothing came of it then we would go ahead and put it on the market. But they all made offers. One all cash. So… our house is in contract. I’m not gonna lie. I cried. There is so much more to say about how I feel about leaving this house and leaving Austin and possibly Blake here when we move to North Carolina this summer. But I’m not ready to do it yet.

So moving on… Prom. Blake went with Valentina. They broke up a couple weeks later. We joke how Austin has had the same girlfriend for three years while Blake has had a bunch.

The pictures of him and MaryBeth make me so happy. I miss the days when they were preschoolers and had sleepovers together. I hope they always remain friends.

Maggie and Blake played “Blackbird” by the Beatles at Baccalaureate. It was pretty cool.

And then it was graduation. Both sets of Grandparents came up for it. Austin had just gotten home from the Cleveland Marathon where he qualified for Boston and NYC.

The best thing about this picture is Blake wearing all of Austin’s honors ribbons and his over 4.0 sash. He actually wore them to graduation. Blake is an ok student but school is not his thing. Music is. Love that they are so different.

Eva and I love spending time in our metro parks. We saw a ginormous snapping turtle this trip. Both of us could not stop sneezing though so we cut it short.

Now the month from the iPhone

Austin decided to change his major from neuroscience to English. He felt like med schools want more diversity and everyone majors in science so he changed it to his minor. He’s still premed it just gives him more diversity. One if his professors was pleased and sent him this email which he texted to me.

And shortly after Blake sent me a text that he got “best hair” for the yearbook. 🙂

Now that Andy is commuting for his new job the weeks can get long. So I went to see Justin Timberlake with my friend Karina

After two years of being a vegetarian Austin decided he was going to eat chicken. He’s kinda mostly back to being a vegetarian again. He and Taylor celebrated their 3 year anniversary.

I got sad when he moved into his house on campus at Ohio State. The dorms seemed safe and the house seemed a bit sketchy. I got a little teary when he pulled away in his Jeep. He sent me a reassuring text. 🙂 He knows I love the My favorite murder podcast.

Tracking Austin up in Cleveland from at home in Columbus. So cool to be able to see his progress. He did awesome. So very thankful that Taylor and her mom and dad went with him since we couldn’t go.

Last day of 8th grade. So hoping Bodie comes to visit us in NC!

One of Blake’s friends has a beach house in Emerald Isle so they went down to NC for the week.

I didn’t plant a garden this year since we are moving but somehow the strawberries survived our crazy cold winter.

And finally 9:30pm pizza reheat. And he even remembered to turn the griddle off 🙂

Not sure why the sideways pics keep happening. Planning a blog revamp soon.
