Thanksgiving (plus video)

Because we are living in a rental that is not big enough for our whole family we decided to go to the beach for Thanksgiving. Our favorite beach, was hit pretty hard by Hurricane Florence. We were afraid that it would take years for it to recover but we decided to go anyway to give it support. It wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be but you could still see the damage everywhere. Man I love that island and it was so great to go back and see for myself that it was going to be ok.

Everyone grabs a snack at the marina. Including these two. I love the wait for the ferry. 🙂

Andy’s birthday was our first day there.

This boy was so happy to be at the beach. Both dogs were. They were bouncing around like rabbits and were wiped out at the end of the day.

Love being able to spend time with this dude.

We were blessed with somewhat cooler than normal temps for this time of year but still nice enough for us to enjoy outside time. Roughly around 55 degrees.

Fall beach time is so different than Summer beach time. I love them both.

For some reason there was a ton of horseshoe crabs washed up on the beach. Hudson tried to bite them all and Oakley was terrified of them.

Soaking it in.

The next day we went down to the beach to look for shells and fly kites.

Blake was super sick the first part of the trip. Again. It seems to happen every trip we take. He spent the first couple days in bed with a fever and finally emerged feeling better by Thanksgiving. It was good to see him up and moving.

Austin did not want to get sick lol

And then the kites- it wasn’t as easy to fly them as it was at Jockeys Ridge when we were OBX a bit ago. Austin finally got his going.

I love how much the dogs love the beach

Austin had to leave early to head back to Columbus for the Ohio State vs Michigan game.

Before he did we tried to grab a family picture.

These are the best we got.

Loved mornings on the porch

The next day we watched to OSU game and saw Austin on tv

I can’t even tell you how much I love Bald Head
