Note to self

1. Don’t move anymore
2. Don’t build another house.

For the most part #1 has gone well. Andy travels way more than in the past and last week he was in Switzerland from Saturday-Saturday. It’s so much easier now that the kids are getting older but we are all settling into getting used to it. Like it’s no big deal when he goes. And that’s a spot I don’t want to be in. I want to want to have him around, if that makes sense.

As for #2, well we will talk about that when this is said and done. I have a lot to say on that one.

In the meantime the older boys came down for a few days for their Spring Break. They left today to head to Gatlinburg with their friends. So fun having them around of course. Austin shadowed a couple doctors at Duke, parents of one of his friends from when we lived here before. I am so glad he has remained friends with people here and got to have that opportunity. Last week he interviewed for Teach for America. He should hear back in a couple weeks to find out if he was accepted. Blake and I both got haircuts and just hung out. It was nice having extra hands around to walk the dogs with me and do pick-ups after lacrosse practice for Cole.

This is the first time I didn’t cry when they left. I get to see Blake again in a couple weeks when we go to Florida and Austin again in May.

Blake and I after our haircuts, I was surprised he got so much cut off, but I think it looks so good.

Hardwood floors going in at the house

The weather here is SO nice right now and I have been trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Took the dogs on a long walk and creek swim today. Yesterday they both went in for a taurine test (repeat for Hudson and first one for Oakley). Never ever feed your Golden Retriever Grain Free food. Hudson’s taurine came back low and his EKG showed borderline DCM. We are hoping it can be reversed with a diet change and taurine supplements. We thought we were doing what was best for him based on how much our last Golden Barley struggled with allergies. Turns out we were harming him 🙁 So thankful we caught it early!
