Finally starting to feel like Fall

I am currently sitting in front of the fire on our screened porch with the dogs while a repair guy fixes our oven and dishwasher. Yes, our 3 month old appliances. Sigh.

It supposed to be stormy today but so far we have only seen a little bit of rain and now I might just have to turn the fireplace off as it is getting toasty. Dreary days are not my fave but after the drought we have had we really need it.

Eva has Girls on the Run today which I am guessing will be indoors. Cole’s XC meet was moved until tomorrow.

The calm before the storm 🙂 I had to go buy more mums at Costco because my first round could not take the heat!

Cole got this new Virtual Reality game and it is so funny to watch them play it. Austin tried it out when he was here. Both he and Blake said it was scary. LOL.

When you want a quick Butternut Squash fix but don’t want to take the time to make it I love these BNS Raviolis from Trader Joes. Add a little pesto from Costco and call it a dinner!

Cole got his new XC sweatshirt. The Seniors make up names for everyone and put them on the back to surprise them. He got “The OG” because another kid from Ohio joined the team this year.

These dogs watch me wherever I go.

I really love the tile in my bathroom. And the chandelier as well. The tub, not so much. I thought it was all one piece but it is actually 2 separate pieces and it’s plastic! Ugh. I had no idea. I miss my big tub like crazy. I miss the quality of the work in my old house like crazy. See all the tape in the above pic? Still waiting on them to come back and properly paint the house. Some places are just primed, some places haven’t even been painted yet. It’s unreal.

Look who is waiting when I get out of the tub. Sweetest dogs in the world.

I am so proud of Eva for taking on the challenge of running twice a week. She did XC a few years back and decided she didn’t like it. I think because Girls on the run is different. They work to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games, culminating in a celebratory 5k run. Unfortunately she is going to miss the reindeer run this year because we will be up in Columbus attending Austin’s graduation!

Speaking of Ohio State and graduation, Hudson was representing on Game Day! Go Bucks!

Cole and his cross country team had a nerf gun battle at the high school. Of course he has to go all out ghillie

Andy and I have really enjoyed trying new places around the area to take the dogs out walking or hiking. This time we went to Occoneechee Speedway It was built on an old horse racing track back in 1947 and was one of the first two NASCAR tracks to open. It closed in 1968 and is the only dirt track remaining.

Look at these old race cars. So cool.

The track is about .75 miles and mostly shaded and treed on each side. Very nice place to take a walk with your dog or go for a run. There are no trashcans however so you have to carry that poop bag which was the only downside. Dog poop bag I mean.

A long with Butternut Squash I am also obsessed with the Everything but the bagel items. I found this greek yogurt dip at Trader Joes and it is awesome.

And this is next on my list to try

And to round out what else I am currently still obsessed with

Succulents! 🙂

That cardinal is lovely! I always enjoy seeing what kinds of birds visit this time of year. It truly makes it feel like fall to me. And I love those big Goldens of yours. We have one ourselves and he’s the sweetest, goofiest boy.
