October wrap up

A couple weeks ago we were getting excited because Blake was going to come home from Asheville for a weekend trip home. It’s hard for us to go pick him up because it is 3.5 hours there and then back of course. So… we checked into the bus and it’s a little over a 5 hour trip one way for like 50 bucks. This was the 2nd time trying the bus (we tried a couple weeks ago and he overslept and missed it).

This time he got to the bus station but all of a sudden had a lot of pain and decided to take a taxi to the Emergency Room. He was rushed in for emergency surgery and Andy was able to hop in the car and be there by the time he got out. He ended up getting discharged that evening and they drove back to Chapel Hill.

In the meantime the siblings at home started to make him brownies.

Supervisor. We got him home and settled. Things started to look more Fall like outside. The dogs have an underground fence here at our new house but our pool is fenced. Our backyard is half grass half woods. We have issues with kids coming all the way up to our pool, neighbors chickens in the yard, and various dogs coming in. We really want to set our trampoline up but obviously can’t do that so we have decided to fence the whole yard. I swear this house is a money pit!

Our dogs bark a lot because of these front doors. I am used to being further away from the street/sidewalk. It’s non-stop noise!

Our weather has been so warm. Swimming on the same day we carve pumpkins is ok by me.

Andy always has a plan. The rest of them not so much.

And then it was Halloween night. Eva wanted to be a cat again so I was ok with that. Easy. We had some friends come over, grabbed some dinner at our neighborhood Halloween party and off they went.

After they grabbed enough candy they came back to our house to watch a movie. Cole had friends in the basement and crazy storms blew in. Lots of lightening, tornado warning, and crazy rain.

Cole had the XC team over after regionals and they were nuts and swam in the pool that night. I sat in front of the fire on the screened porch and read a book.

I miss Austin and Taylor. Great to see pics of them on social media

We took Eva and the dogs over to the NC museum of art Just to walk around the outside. It was pretty cool.

And then things started to look like Fall.

The little lizards have turned brown

Tomorrow we get our first taste of cooler weather. I’m not ready!!!!

Ok, the neighbors’ chickens in your yard made me giggle. Have you ever thought about getting your own chickens, or do you think that would be a problem with the dogs? I have to say, having fresh eggs every day is wonderful. 🙂
