Feels like Spring

Rolling into 2020 with a new look on the old blog.

I barely pulled out my big camera last year and I am hoping that changes this year. I miss it. I miss having high quality pics of my kids and pups. Guess that will be my New Years resolution. 🙂 I found this pic from BHI from Thanksgiving. What a great trip.

We had a really great break with lots of time spent with the kiddos. Having Blake in Asheville instead of Ohio has been wonderful. I love that he can come home whenever he wants.

Our weather has been so warm so we decided to head to the beach for the weekend. This time we decided to check out Ocean Isle Beach. We took the dogs as they can be on the beach (leashed) during the off season.

We stayed in a condo that was about a block from the beach.

We didn’t spend much time at the beach. It was super foggy and you couldn’t even see the ocean. Kinda crazy.

So we spent a lot of time on the deck at the condo which was fine with me- I got to finish the Unhoneymooners which was a perfect beach read. Now I am back to thrillers. Always on the look out for good books. If you are on Goodreads let me know what you are reading!

Eventually it cleared up and we went back to the beach to look for some shells.

It was a short weekend trip but it was nice to check out another beach. It is probably my fave after Bald Head. It has the ease to just drive up instead of having to park and hop the ferry (although I think that is part of the fun of the island) but the dog and canopy restrictions may make it a no go for us.

Because these sweet baby faces really like to go to the beach. Just like their mama.

Back to Chapel Hill we have been taking advantage of our mild winter.

Anyone listening to any good podcasts? I am listening to The Murder Squad right now about the staircase murder. Did the owl do it? I have read on Reddit that people see Michael Peterson at the Durham Costco all the time. I keep hoping I will run into him some day. I am such a Murderino. #SSDGM 🙂

The early wake up times around here allow for views like this

But afternoon sun is just as pretty

Oakley turned 3 a few days ago. Time flies. He’s still naughty.

Two more weeks until Austin and Taylor come to visit for the weekend. I can’t wait 🙂
