Covid Summer

Spring kinda rolled into Summer when school wrapped up and the days heated up. Eva has really enjoyed having her older brothers in the house.

I was throwing the ball for Hudson and he turned around and ran into the pool fence and cut his face right above his eye. A few stitches later he had a cone and had to be separated from Oakley. Cole and Eva felt bad for him so they sat with him in his confined area.

Hudson went with us on a short weekend over trip over to the island because of his injury. Here he is about to get on the ferry to head to the island. Note his stitches- so close to his eye 🙁 But look at that happy face. Hudson LOVES BHI!

Back to Chapel Hill- keeping Hudson out of the pool because of his stitches was hard- he loves to swim.

More homeschool chemistry keeping the saltwater in check

Austin is training for a marathon again and he keeps a chart in the kitchen with the miles he runs and the exercises he does each day

Hudson got his stitches out and into the pool he went 🙂

Our basil really started to take off and we got our first pepper!

Eva has been reading two books a day. Seriously. And big books. I have never seen someone read as fast as she does.

Our first basil harvest

Oakley got out of the pool and then went and rolled in mulch. I told him he had to get hosed off before getting back in the pool and he tried to hide

And then it was back to the island.

Eva always likes getting her mermaid tail

Make up night by Eva. Those eyebrows! They look scary and Eva looks 18

We rented a house on the marsh on this trip so that meant cart rides to the beach for the doggos.

Eva really wanted to learn how to fish. Turns out she didn’t like it 🙂

Back in Chapel Hill and back in the pool

We celebrated a couple birthdays

Everyone was working from home but afternoons were for the pool

And then it was back to island again. Waiting for the ferry.

Smelling the oleanders off the front porch

Our house is across the street from the beach so after dinner walks are pretty amazing

And Evening golf cart rides are pretty special too

Very thankful for new friends

And more beach 🙂

Flowers growing in the courtyard

Silly happy beach dogs

Big moon, planets, and ocean from our porch

The view never gets old
