How to propagate succulents

While we were trying to stay home durning the pandemic I started collecting succulents. And because they are easy to grow they kept growing and growing so I started learning how to propagate them.

If you are curious and want to try it, it’s super easy.

First thing is to get the soil. Two parts potting soil, one part Perlite and one part sand. Mix it all together in a big bowl or bucket.

The first way to start new plants is to pinch off leaves. Twist it off and lay it in the soil and it will start to root on it’s own. Super easy. Although succulents don’t need a lot of water they do in the early days so make sure you check on them. Spray bottles work well for this too

Another way is to cut off a stem when they start to get long and leggy. Place them on a paper towel and let them dry for a couple days to scab over. Don’t skip this step.

Pick out some cute little pots and you are good to go!
