I was on such a good string of good books and then bam, hit a wall with a few not so great ones.
Lately I have gotten picky about books. I don’t want to read about someone with cancer, animal cruelty, missing children. If I want that I will turn on the news. Unfortunately it seems that ever book I pick up has a woman that gets cancer, a dog that dies, or some other depressing situation.
I have put down the last two books, Pawleys Island, and Second Chance because they were both so boring. It is such a relief to just put a book down that hasn’t hooked me. I picked up Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin at B&N and it has sucked me in.
Anyone out there that likes to read, friend me on Good Reads and show me your list!

Hi Elisa. I am on goodreads. Friend me. Melanie Gore
I know what you mean about depressing books. I just friended you on Goodreads. If you want fluff, my list is full of it!
Glad you had a good Mother’s Day. I thought of you stuck in that hotel room on Sunday, and wondered how you and the little burrito were getting along. No pics today?
All of the Emily Griffin books are good. I believe there are 4 now. Something Blue is a continuation of Something Borrowed. Baby Proof is the third – with a new story line. There is a 4th but I cannot remember the name of it, it was out last June.
I sent you a friend request. I also do not feel like reading depressing books that is why I have stayed away from Marley and Me.
ME TOO – but now i’m reading another series, harry potter, before the next movie comes out – yeah, i know – ha! i’m on good reads but i don’t update too much. i ♥ to read a LOT!
check out bill bryson – a walk in the woods – you will be laughing so hard, you’ll cry. it’s real-life travel book. most of his books are based on travel that he has done, experienced, etc. he’s one of my favorite authors!
loves and hugs, rach
I’m a reader myself and live in a small town, with a small library. I also hate clutter and can’t stand to have books all over. I joined paperbackswap.com a year or so ago and love it! I add books that I want all the time and then I get an automatic e-mail when someone adds it. It is a great place to get cookbooks, travel books, children’s books, etc. It’s also a great way to be more green!
