Packing 101

Remember that I told you that I stink at packing? This time I am trying to be a bit more organized.
I even made a list

I took the idea of getting a baby pool for Eva, more rubberbands for her crazy hair.

I am going to try Burt Bees Chemical Free Sunscreen- anyone use it?  I need to go buy some People magazines.  My guilty beach pleasure.

Gathering up the flip flops is a task in itself- the feet grow fast!

IMG_6521 So far my system is working out *ok*.  I’d like to say I tackled it and it’s done.  But this is far as I got.

More to get done today.

  1. I am right there with you. I have a ton to do, and we leave Friday after work. We have to finish a project and Robbie has soccer tonight. I guess all the packing will take place tomorrow. Hope you all have a good time!

  2. You know Mike – making lists is a big thing in this family, and while I can laugh at having them, they have saved the day many times. Wish we were going with you!

  3. I have a ton of old people and Us mgazines if you want me to drop off. You are a better person than I. I read Star and National Enquirer on Vacation!!

  4. hey do you want this really cool easy pop up beach tent thing we have? all of our babes slept in it while on the beach. I can bring it over…

  5. I love love love all the cameras and photo equipment in the first pic – that is totally me – a whole backpack of cameras and chargers wherever I go!

I hate packing, too. And unpacking.

    Have a great trip!

  6. I didn’t love the burts bees sunscreen… it left a weird film on the kids that peeled. there is another one I liked better…I think maybe Jason’s brand? I don’t know, it was lavender scented… and came from Whole Paycheck. I can look for it if you really want to know.

The baby pool is a brilliant idea, but what I really want to point out is that it’s a good thing you put down that it’s for Eva. Just in case anyone thought it was for one of the rest of you. You really dodged a bullet there. *whew*

  7. okay – I hate to ‘out’ myself as I feel like a dork telling you this (but you know me :), I finally created an excel spreadsheet for packing – works like a charm – everyone has their own column and can check off (or I can for them 🙂 and it has everything from wine opener/bandaids/phone charger/etc and you don’t even have to print it out.

I have kept my old paper ones as I can not part with the notes to remember ‘piggie’ & such but the spreadsheet has been a saver (and pinkster (Momo’s pink waffle blanket) is still on it). I do shove a copy in our luggage (as we go off-line on vacations) to help remember to pack everything back up 🙂

    have a fabulous time!!!!!!!
