I am going to plant this one
I have managed to keep this tree alive for 3 years now. One of the boys got it on Earth Day a few years back either from the rec center or from school. Can’t remember. They said it needed to stay in the pot for two birthdays. I can’t believe it survived, and thrived even.
Oh and yes I know the nuts are poisonous. It will be planted out of dogs reach.
And because we all know we need to get those plastic bottles out of the house, I just ordered some of these
sport bottles for the kids that are not plastic Made by Sigg
Maybe you already know, but without a mate the buckeye tree will not produce any nuts. So your pooches should be safe if this is your only buckeye tree.
Does the mate have to be nearby? What if it is across the yard?
