So this morning I threw on my workout clothes and headed for the gym. I forgot I was wearing a TEXAS sweatshirt and I am not kidding from the moment I walked in the door people started chirping at me.
Most friendly but I did get the death stare from a couple that were dropping their son off in Cole’s Pee Wee Football class.
As I was standing around the water fountain with three of my friends getting ready to leave one of them told me to turn it inside out, otherwise I was going to get a lot of attention. A young guy getting a drink almost spit his water out laughing when I said, “You know, I actually went to school there.” That thought didn’t occur to anyone. Buckeye Country and all.
The day continued- with one lady actually being really snotty to me when I was buying a shirt for Austin! I’m starting to get a bad attitude, just kidding. Sorta.
As for the kiddos….
Blake is wearing a UT shirt, Austin is being pretty laid-back about the whole thing so far. He says he wants Ohio State to win of course but he hasn’t put anything buckeye related on his body. I am sure that will change as we head over to our friend’s house.
Cole had the best idea. He has on a “don’t mess with Texas” t-shirt and then he is also going to wear his OSU football jersey. But this is what he said,
“I want them to tie. And really I only care if Rick Nash wins.”
If it makes you feel at all better…I was the ONLY person with an Ohio State t-shirt on at a downtown Austin bar- things got pretty hairy after the pass interference call against UT in the 3rd.
