haven’t done one of these in a while because I lost interest in it, I think I need to change the perspective. Here are a few that went out with this weeks shipment.

I have workers in my house again- finishing up remodel things so I have been bad about returning emails. I am going to sit down and do that RIGHT NOW. So if you have sent me an email this week and do not hear back from me today, email me again.

Ok, all you photographers out there that use Flickr and other online photo sharing places…..
I am trying to figure out what to do about people using my pictures.
Lately I have noticed that my pics are showing up on myspace pages, hockey forums, etc.
I can’t decide if it bothers me and if I should try to watermark my images, or if I should just let it go.
So far all I have noticed is hockey pictures- but I haven’t really searched for anything else yet. Flickr gives me a nice track-back so I can find where a lot of traffic comes from- this has been helpful when tracking down my pics out there.
Anyway, shoot me an email if you have dealt with this problem and what you have done about it.

I said that I would be putting that small messenger up on the site last week and I didn’t. I am putting the blame on my tech guy. At any rate I may put it up this evening but doing the solo parenting gig can sometimes be a challenge so we’ll see.
I may go with my sister-in-laws idea and name it “Lou”. I think she likes that name (it is her middle name). For those who don’t know, my name isn’t really Lou but when I was born my dad always called me Lisa-Lou instead of my real name (Elisa). It was then shortened to Lou. He only calls me Elisa when he is mad at me (not that often anymore)
Thinking maybe that is how I developed my affinity to nicknames. My dogs always get nicknames- probably why they are always such bad dogs- they have no idea what their names are!
When I was in college I had a Lab named Bailey. My roomates and I always made up different names for her. They went something like this-
Bailey- Little Pupskins- Little P- Peedle Deedle- then finally “P”
I had another dog named Duke and one time I was camping with a bunch of friends on Lake Travis in Austin
-calling my dogs in from the lake “Dukey! P!” One of my girlfriends said, “do you have any idea what you are saying??”
Ok so moving on.
I am so sore. I want to climb into the tub and soak for an hour or two. Once again- solo parenting doesn’t really allow for that.
A couple weeks ago I got so bored with my workout routine. To the gym, elliptical, weights, run the track. Repeat. Repeat.
I thought maybe I needed a new gym. Then I ran into one of my neighbors there and she suggested that maybe I needed a goal.
Yeah! Perfect! A goal!
“Maybe you should train for Race for the Cure.”
Oh. Of course I was thinking something totally selfish like a six pack before bikini season. Sigh.
Then I thought that maybe I just needed to take it outdoors- after-all it was warming up.
But yesterday it was time to get back into the routine. And it was raining.
Then I got the best idea- new music for the iPod. Never doubt the power of music on your workout. Sounding like some lame fitness instructor I know. But it worked.
Here are my favorites of the ones that I added- and I save these to get me through the last 15 minutes because they never fail to get me to step it up a notch.
A little less conversation a little more action (which I think if the Blue Jackets ever ditch machinehead this should be their new theme song- of course it probably isn’t “tough” enough for hockey but the lyrics are perfect)
Here is a cool Nike Commercial with that song
Then sticking with the old school theme I added
Ring of Fire- Social Distortions version of the Johnnie Cash song. Love it. Added Ball and Chain too.
And the one I save for the very end is my favorite song right now.
Foo Fighters- the Pretender
If that doesn’t work you can watch it here.
Love. David. Grohl.
So that combined with the fact that Mondays I get to work out for 90 minutes instead of 60 means I am having trouble today. Ouch.
And I will leave you with my all time favorite Chili Peppers song. This is the song I like to listen to when I am done. I Walk the track and listen and think.
Even if you don’t like rock or the Chili Peppers you will like this one. It’s mellow. It’s good.
I can only find one video for it- plays the song and shows the words. Worth a listen.
Love Anthony too.
Say it now cause ya never know.

I have only been to a handful of Crew games. Last nights game against the Houston Dynamos was a good one.

It was such a perfect night to be outside.
This picture of our goalie Will Hesmer reminds me of Will Ferrell

Alejandro Moreno scored the only goal of the night

And these pictures of Brian Carroll and Robbie Rogers crack me up. They are waiting for the ball to be kicked in by a Houston player.

I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that pro soccer players don’t wear cups?

but this dog always cracks me up

The view out the window.
Alrighty then, off to the Crew game.
Anyone watching the Stanley Cup Play-offs? Loved the Penguins last night. And the Red Wings are kicking some Colorado booty today. Poor poor Adam Foote- hehe.

He makes up his own rules.
Barley the Golden Retriever is the coach.
He is Rick Nash (big surprise) and he says I am Nickolai Zherdev.
He is better than me.
He changes where the goal is, then deducts points from my score if I hit it too far away.
He gets to call a “rest period” whenever he wants- I can’t.
He decides when it is time to change players, tells me to be Pascal Leclaire. Oh but he is still Rick Nash. Rick Nash doesn’t change. (side note here is how amazed I am at how clearly he spits out his favorite hockey players names yet his preschool teachers have trouble understanding his normal words…)
Even though I am now a goalie I also have to play regular hockey.
Time to switch players again- now I am Jared Boll. He is still Rick Nash.
All of a sudden he throws his stick down and yells, “FIGHT!”
We pretend to fight, he says I need to fall down on the “ice”. I said no. I tell him that Nash doesn’t fight, he says Rick Nash does “ev-wee-thing”
We play more.
He yells “FIGHT” again. This time backs up for a running start, says he is going to take me down. I pull his shirt over his head (classic hockey move).
We both crack up.
Game Over.

Go plant a tree.
I am going to plant this one

I have managed to keep this tree alive for 3 years now. One of the boys got it on Earth Day a few years back either from the rec center or from school. Can’t remember. They said it needed to stay in the pot for two birthdays. I can’t believe it survived, and thrived even.
Oh and yes I know the nuts are poisonous. It will be planted out of dogs reach.
And because we all know we need to get those plastic bottles out of the house, I just ordered some of these

Remember that song by the Boomtown Rats? And the video with the big snake?
That song was going through my head last night as I stayed up with a sick Cole. Lots of tummy pain, lots of throwing up, very little sleep.
Not sure if it is a bug or a huge bag of cinnamon almonds he ate from Whole Foods. He kept having these waves of pain that made him cry and wiggle like crazy. At one point I started timing them, every 20 minutes. Then throw in some puking and let’s just call it a fun night.
So, since yesterday was Monday and we are on the topic of Boomtown Rats, lets just enjoy a little 80’s music. How can you not love Bob Geldof and his shoulder pads. Ahh the 80’s, such a great time to grow up.
