An Unhappy Ending

I started following the story of the Kim family last week before it hit the news.  At that point they were all still missing.  I tuned into the search page everyday and read blogs of friends of the family.  Then the good news that the mom and girls were found.  Unbelieveable.  There was hope.  But the dad was still lost and as the each day passed it was looking less likely that he would be found alive.  And then yesterday- they found his body a mile from the car.  One mile.  But he had traveled 8 miles.  He was on his way back to them.  It breaks my heart.  And made me hug my kiddos a little tighter last night.  Especially my little one who was curled up in a chair- head burning from a fever.  As hard as that little guy can be I would do anything for him- life would not be the same without him.

So, slow down- take the time to appreciate what you have.  How quickly things can change.

James use to be on a show called Fresh Gear that I watched religiously. He would often talk about his wife while talking about the latest gadget. It’s very unfortunate but at least the searchers found his family from his footprints that lead them back to the car. He ultimately saved them.

I love how on the tribute you can watch him with his gadgets. You can just tell he LOVED what he did. He seems like a great guy. My heart goes out to the family and you are right, ultimately he saved their lives.
